Rocket Riverside

Went for dinner on Saturday night after hearing good things about it, and the majority of reviews here. Both starters were cold, replaced with no great fuss but not a great start, followed by one of the mains being overcooked.

Add on top the fact that the service was poor and I don't think we had the same waiter twice so requests simply got lost between them..

Maybe just a bad night for them but not good.. Actual venue itself is good though.

I had a fantastic party at Riverside on New Years Eve. Great crowd, service was good considering the number of people and the place simply rocked. In fact, I would love to return for dinner at a more leisurely pace!

I do have one downside though... I met the girl of my dreams during the festivities that night and somehow (probably due to a few too many on my part) lost her in the crowd without exchanging numbers...

All I had when I woke on the 1st was a heavenly vision and a faint trace of her perfume lingering.

Mystery girl, if you are out there, I'd love to make it up to you...

Whatever the management did, it certainly worked. A long-time resident of Putney, my wife and I have been to Rocket Riverside several times in the last two years. Although a period of lacklustre service a while back nearly spoiled the excellent location, our recent visits have been a pleasant surprise. Their new approach to management clearly worked - highly visible and very friendly. A revamped menu (great winter food) and enthusiastic staff certainly redeemed the restaurant. It's now one of our favourite weekend venues, whether for a lazy Sunday lunch, or a fabulous pre-party dinner on Friday nights.

Live in the area and go to Rocket often, the service has improved alot and I always feel welcome when i go there. Great food and service and always great atmosphere in the bar. This place is just getting better everytime I go there and Sunday nights is a real treat with the live music. Keep up the good work!

Went here as part of a group on a friday night. The service was good if infrequent

The venue itself is nice, clean and cosy.

The starters were very good, well presented and made me look forward to the main course.

However The mains were -shockingly- bad. The worst pizza i have had in many years. Cheap sausage masquerading as chorizo on a budget cheese and tomato base. noone was happy with their main courses. no repeat business from our group.

overall, sadly massive dissapointment.

I have eaten in rocket many times and never once had a bad meal. The service can sometimes be a little slow, but on the whole a thoroughly good experience. Good food, good setting and great for gourps.

Seems to get a few mixed reviews but we really like this place. Fun restaurant and very fun bar make for a great night out. Waitresses are sometimes a bit busy as the place can be packed but generally the service is friendly and the prices very cheap.

This really is the best bar in south London and the restaurant is right up there as well. Great value for money and friendly service. A definite winner!

Waste of time - very very very average food. Highlight was chewing on a staple which was added to our pizza bread. No apologies from management. Service non existent. Go somewhere else.

I'm really surpised one or two parties feel let down by Rocket Riverside. My wife and I eat there every few weeks - one of our favourite places in the area. The food and wine have consistently been great; the waiters polite and friendly. It's comfortable, spacious, with a pleasant view.
