Aanya Wine Lounge
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
We've been going to Aaanya more or less since it opened. If you want a good chill-out place to escape from the Crouch End hordes at a weekend lunchtime, it really can't be bettered. However, the main action is in the evening, when the enticing food, wine and decor comes into its own, offering something which is really different to anywhere else in Crouch End. The recently expanded menu has a real deftness of touch, with subtle and inventive spicing and a real attention to detail that's miles away from the oily, tomatoey gloop so often served up by curry houses. The very friendly owner takes a real pride in sourcing hard to get wines but never over-charges for the privilege. In short, a great place.

We really enjoyed our Saturday evening at Aanya Lounge in Crouch End, delicious contemporary Indian food, full of flavour and without fatty, creamy, dull sauces, busy and buzzy ambiance as all tables were full, and we liked the casual sofas and bar stools; as far away from a traditional Indian restaurant as you can get. We'll definately go back.
