Four Seasons Chinese

I'm Chinese and I do agree their service is very bad and they still got the guts to charge customer 10% further for service. However, with my 5 years experience of eating in China town, their roast duck is the best across the street - newly roasted and juicy.
For me, if you really want to enjoy their roast duck, and avoid their bad service and service charge con, go for takeaway. But if you insist eating in the restaurant, I can give you some tips that only Chinese people know about it.
1.) There is no such thing "minimal charge", I always order a dish of roast duck rice for 6pounds and paid the bill!
2.) 10% off for student, show them your student card before ordering food. But remember this only apply if you agree to pay CASH only. Why? Figure it yourself ;)
3.) DON'T EAT THE FREAKING ORANGES, they are so dirty and might be contaminated by detergent. They cut them hours ago and stacked next to the sink (the waitress wash and clean the glasses continuously next to the orange).
Hope this may help! :D

I tried out the branch in London Chinatown after reading good reviews in some forum. Apparently, Four Seasons are suppose to make the best duck rice in London. Not the case. Nothing special at all and the portion was stingy. Price was higher than the average in Chinatown. They also charge for tea (ok most places charge for tea but I find this so stingy...), and they levy a service charge.
If you want good old-fashioned roast duck and other meats, there are plenty of other options in the same street.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

They pretty much slapped us with our bill mid way through our meal when our steamed rice were still nice and hot. Not an ideal place to go to when you want to have a proper catch up with your friends.. They pretty much kick you out as soon as they bring out your dishes..
If you make a booking they impose a £15 p/person spend which is easily done.. Especially when they charge £2 for cut chilli.
I prefer the one in Bayswater better... And if you are going to head to Bayswater anyway I'd say Gold Mine (a couple of doors down from Four Seasons) is soooo much better.

My friend recommended this place for its roasted duck, and I tried yesterday, to be fair, among all the roasted duck I've tasted in London, this is really just average. I dare to say so because I'm Chinese, and I know how good roasted duck could be. ( Mayflower on shaftesbury avenue, Yueng Cheng on shaftesbury avenue, their ducks are far better )
The restaurant itself is small and packed, they used all available place to squeeze as many as tables and chairs as possible, so not a pleasant environment.
Service: average too, I dont expect any service in Chinese restaurant anyway, so that doesn't bother me.

I absolutely love Chinese Roast Duck. A friend recommended the Roast Duck from Four Seasons. I ordered one whole duck to take away (price - £17) and I have to say, despite the negative reviews of this restaurant, the duck is amazing and very tasty. My family and I enjoyed it so I will definately go back there.

Good food and fast service, but beware, 10% service already added to your bill and when you pay with credit cards they ask if you want to add service. I got conned into giving them another 10% service.

Food was OK. Service and atmosphere was poor. It was me and my girlfriend and we had to share a 6person table with four other randomers, also watch out for the bill, they don't add to the same because of a hidden 12.5% service charge, also they overcharged us by £18 for food we didn't order..after this had been rectified bill still came to £45 which is a lot considering we only order very little..please do yourselves a favour and AVOID!

although the food is quite authentic and good especially the duck and soya chicken, the service is absolutley atrocious, after having our order taken, a plate of gai lan came after about 30 minutes by itself !!! then after about 40 mins 3 other dishes came with no boiled rice, i mean how could we eat all that food with no rice, having asked where the other dish and rice was i was rudely and abrubtly told it is coming with the most dirtiest of faces being thrown at me, i mean this was after about 50 minutes of waiting, eveyone i was with had more or less finished their food, so i decided to cancel my order to get another dirty look ...they even had the cheek to hide the service charge when the bill came...did i pay it HELL NO!!! Evan had to tell them their service was awful....hope they took notice as this is not the 1st time the service was way below any kind of standard here.....
they must be competing up with wong kei's with the service
