Sapori is a smoker's paradise. Trouble is, I don't smoke. The waitress looked at me as though I was mad when I asked for a non-smoking table. Then, despite seating me away from other smokers as best she could, she then sat down directly behind me, and both she and her colleague chain-smoked whenever there was nothing to do. Nice. I can't fault the food though.

Booked table for 12 for my birthday. Tables had to be rearranged when we arrived as they had only reserved 8 seats. Service was prickly to say the least, but definitely improved as the evening went on.

Food was fine. Nothing to write home about, but certainly not less than you would expect for the reasonable prices charged.

Overall, good atmosphere and decent food at a reasonable price, but service could definitely improve.

Quick and easy! Particularly pushy service staff (possibly to many), insistent on full payment of service charge! Slightly salty risotto! Shame its smoking throughout! Generally good food at reasonable prices for central London, enhanced by the fantastic, pleasurable company I was blessed with! Overall 6 or 7 out of ten!

I know its Christmas and restaurants are busy, full of drunk customers and harassed waiting staff. But the really mean waitress working downstairs last night could have at least apologised for bashing into me 3 times, twice with tables and once with a chair as she re-jigged seating to squash even more people in. Spag & meatballs was OK though.

I work nearby and this is one of our favourite places to go for a special occassion lunch. There's a great range of food on offer, there's a lovely atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The food was good, but the service was shoddy and I was disgusted to see one of the waitresses drinking from a bottle behind the bar and smoking at the same time. The wine glasses were not very clean and the coffee saucers were cracked and chipped. Glasses of wine were very overpriced for the quality. We used to go there when it was called Simeonis and it was excellent, the new ownership? has failed, never will go again.

I dined here last night with some friends. The service was very good - meals arrived at the same time and were hot. Risotto with artichokes was gorgeous and, penne with gorgonzola was recommended by one of my friends and the other had spaghetti and meatballs which he loved. Staff polie, attentive without being overbearing - none of that filling glasses every five minutes to get you to buy more wine. The atmosphere was relaxed. A lovely evening.

I have been here twice and on both occasions the food was terrible. A tourist trap!

Lazy is the best word I can think of to describe this restaurant. Lazy food and lazy service. We went for lunch over Easter and had a below average and bizarre risotto - a sauce was mixed in after the rice was cooked! and a very boring pizza with a substandard base. Bears no comparison to real Italian food. The whole restaurant is smoking too, so prepare to be smoked out.

This was my second visit, both times with a large party. The food was on both occasions superb and the courses arrived quickly, hot and at the same time, no waiting for the kitchen to catch up with a large order. The fish stew/casserole was to die for and the spagetti meat balls were the best my husband has eaten. House wine very drinkable. Very relaxed atmosphere, best Italian food at reasonable prices will go again.
