Brockwells

We went to Brockwells for a friends birthday in Feb. I cannot fault the food at all. We (party of ten) had the Salmon, Jerk chicken, Oxtail & Steamed fish. All dishes were served with white rice/rice & peas, salad and the cutest little fried dumplings. Well seasoned, well cooked, beautifully presented, generous portions, good prices.

However......WE WAITED AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR OUR MEAL!!!

Then it came in a trickle. Some of our party were finishing their meal as others were just starting and the side dishes we ordered never made it to the table at all.

I even had to point out to the waitress that she had failed to deduct these items from our bill.

I hope they can sort the timing issue out as the food is sooo good.

Oh yeah, we also danced off our meal until the wee hours!

Having been to Brockwells before, we were happy to book it for a birthday dinner. However, the restaurant was freezing and we were promised that the AC would be turned off but it never was. Our food took a whopping ONE AND A HALF HOURS to arrive. We were told that this was because there was only one chef in the kitchen eventhough we had made them fully aware that there would be a party of 15 people.

The extremely long wait meant that many of us had lost our appetites, which was a shame, because the food there is very good and always full of flavour.

As it was too late to eat the food, we requested to have it wrapped up so we could take it home, but instead, what we had left was thrown away. They did, however, make some more for us to take.

All-in-all, it was a disappointing evening and such a shame that we had to wait so long for the food.

Food was very good. But yet again went to a caribbean resturant where the services was slow and staff looked like they could have been somewhere else. Should have opened at 2pm got there at 2.45pm still putting out table and chairs.It's meant to be eat all you can for £10, where the service is was so slow i could not be bothered to order any more and i have been to a lot of resturants. Hopefully the services will improve but i will not be going there anytime soon.
