Fantastic food - love the Chicken Tikka Wraps - Dosa's pretty good too. A great place for a few quiet beers with friends after work.

total shame, rubbish food, rubbish service, manager had no clue what's going on. it took 45 minutes for the starters to arrive. i was very shamed in front of my boss who came from India and i promised him to take him there for a nice indian lunch. i should have checked the reviews before i went there.

Myself and two friends decided to have lunch at Tiffinbites on Friday 1st October and arrived at the St Paul’s restaurant at around 13.15, our orders were taken shortly after arriving (two vegetarian starters and three regal thali’s).

Our drinks arrived quite quickly after our order was taken and we waited for our meals to be served. At around 14.00 (45 mins after order!) the waiter came to the table to inform us that the chef had told that one of the orders taken (lamb Rogan josh thali) was no longer available and requested that we change it.

When we asked as to why this was not found out earlier none of the staff were able to provide any information, most people in the city have 1 hour lunches and it was quite obvious to us that the chief had not even began to work on our order until 14.00.

Within this 45 min period we had not even received our starters, when I asked if I changed my order how long would it take to arrive, I was told 5 mins (another lie as in 45 mins we had not received a single dish and I am now to believe that three meals would be provided in 5 mins?).

At around 14.10 (almost an hour after ordering), two meals arrived ( I refused to order another dish as I had lost complete trust in what your staff were telling me) one of the meals Chicken tika Masala thali arrived with cold chicken, when we raised this point to the waitress she replied ‘shall I warm it up for you’. Surely your staff know that reheating meats is an extremely dangerous thing to do especially for a restaurant such as yours which claims to be a high end eatery and prices its food in that way.

We brought this to the attention of the manager and explained the long wait, then being told what we had ordered could not be provided, and finally when some food actually came it was cold. The Manager’s initial response was ‘can you please not cause a scene!’

Needless to say neither I nor my friend were able to eat (one person did receive an average quality meal about an hour and 15 mins after ordering by which time we had to return to the office).

I found the help and service level from the waiter (who thought standing there with a big smile on his face was the best way to sort this out) right through to the manger (who made little or no effort to resolve the situation) was appalling. The sentence ‘what can I do about it?’ seemed to be customer service mantra used by the staff.

The really sad thing about this is that when we last visited the restaurant previously (again on a Friday lunch time about a month ago), we had a similar experience in that the meal (for two persons) arrived 1 hour and 30 mins after ordering and we were asked to revise our order because the kitchen had run out of the dishes, once again we were informed of the need to change our order about 40 mins into waiting. The situation in this instance was handled very well by the waiter who made us feel comfortable and portrayed the feeling that both he and the restaurant were very sorry about it, we ourselves noted that the restaurant was busy so could understand the problem (unlike on 01/10/10 when there was a handful of tables eating). Unfortunately this waiter was not working today.

As well as having to find some alternative lunch at 14.30 to eat at my desk, I have now had to take a further 30 mins from my busy afternoon schedule to write this email.

If tiffinbites wishes to continue to present itself as a high end, fresh quality Indian eatery I suggest you take a close look at your St Pauls branch and establish some fundamental levels of service and standards, funnily enough standards that even local Indian take aways are able to achieve.

A very very unhappy cistomer,

Its unfortunate that I have to review like this, as I'm an avid restaurant goer and 99% of the time enjoy the eaters I frequent but in the case of this Lunchtime I felt I had to warn the public of the absolute disgrace that is Tiffinbites ( Russia Row )

3 of us went for lunch, 01/10/10. After ordering our main course and starter, we waited 40 minutes only to be told that one of our dishes wasn t available.

When two dishes were served, one entire dish was cold! this was flagged to the waitress, she asked if she could reheat the dish??? dis she not realise health and hygiene issues of doing this.

The service was a debarcle, the manager was laxadasicle and to be honest, we have banned all of our staff taking our clients there going foward.

Real Shame.

Absolutely disgusting. Service poor, food poor, just a disgrace. Ordered starters and mains, 40 minutes later waiter returns to say one of the 3 mains we ordered isnt available. No starters had arrived nothing. Then 2 main dishes came out, the chicken was cold and when I told the waiter this she asked "can i re heat this in microwave and bring it back for you". then 1 out of 3 starters we ordered arrived. Everyone including manager and chef said it wasnt their fault. left over an hour later having not eaten and had to go back to work.

Dont ever go here, unless you like poor service and food.

My office colleague moved recently from Germany to London so I decided to invite him for lunch to a different food taste. We went to Tiffinbites St Paul for Lunch. It was really crowdy and seems to be a busy place. It took us almost 2 minutes to get our drinks and about 6 minutes to get our food. they explained to us and recommended us some nice plates: chicken Tikka Masala curry and another with lamb Rogan Josh. It was an excellent experience and I think it s really worth to going back there shortly.

This is a great place to meet up with friends. As a British Asian female, i love coming here as there is a vibe of a young professional crowd. Lunch is better at tiffinbites because you have more choice. One time i went to dinner and they had hardly nothing on the menu!! Overall, the food is not too spicy and i found it one of the best indian restaurants in London. Would defintely recommend them!!

On Friday we went to Tiffinbites and the very nice staff allowed us to have the 2 for 1 for the three of us. It was a very good experience -- lots of different dishes and they were willing to substitute some other dishes for a few items that we preferred not to eat.

Excellent!
