I went with a friend for a quick meal - dim sum.
Food is average, but staff are very friendly. Most days there are seating available. Prices are not too high as well.

I completely disagree with other reviews. I' ve been there with my boyfriend. The atmosphere doesn't exist, the floor was dirty and the food so bad. it almost seems the others reviews are fake!!!
i don't recommend it at all! STAY AWAY!!

The food here was great. Booked a function room where me and my friends had dinner and karaoke. Had a lot of fun singing away on the karaoke system while waiting for our meals. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Could'nt fault anything about the meal. The service was very good as well and we all thought the atmosphere was great. Great restaurant!

"Canned food is a perversion,' Ignatius said. 'I suspect that it is ultimately very damaging to the soul." ...
Unlike the typical and generic restaurants in and around Chinatown, there is hidden gem called China City. I've had my fair share of culinery experiences in Chinatown, ranging from the delightful Feng Shui Inn to the shores of Little Korea, but I was left yearning for more. At China City, I found the service, the food and the whole experience rather uplifting.
Finally, I found a place which offers warm, cost aesthetics with a pleasant waitering staff to match.
I would guarantee to any potential visitors that they will find themselves treated with the best food in town in a unique, culturally-rooted experience.
Loved every minute I spent there, and I'm counting down the days when I'll be returning.
"So we see that even when Fortuna spins us downward, the wheel sometimes halts for a moment and we find ourselves in a good, small cycle within a larger bad cycle. The universe, of course, is based upon the principle of the circle within the circle. At the moment, I am in an inner circle. Of course, smaller circles within this circle are also possible."
May Fortuna continue to bless China City.

I took my in-laws to this restaurant last Saturday night for a family birthday celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not the swankiest restaurant in town but it is modern, clean, comfortable and in a great location. What really makes the place though is the food and the staff. The staff were really friendly and helpful and our waiter even recommended that we ordered less food or else we'd be too full - he was correct! All of the food was delicious and the pricing is reasonable. The birthday girl even received a complimentary mango and coconut "cake" with candles! After 12 years in London I think that this is probably the best dining experience we've had in Chinatown and I will be recommending the restaurant to my friends.

I went to the Leicester Sq branch of China City with two friends and we had steam boat which was great. Excellent portions, tasty fresh prawns, good service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Its definitely on my list of good chinese restaurants, esp. as they serve steamboat!
