We had no reservation, yet were welcomed enthusiastically and invited to the bar for our forty five minute wait.

The decor is typically American with a mixture of genuinely interesting sports pieces and memorabilia mixed with pure tack.

The tables and chairs are slightly cramped and the bathroom always has a queue.

Though in the middle of a Friday evening rush, the bar staff were pleasant and chatty.

Our waitress was very busy but constantly attentive, and the food was hot, perfectly cooked and well presented.

On the whole we had a great time and will definitely be going back.

the tables here are quite close together and the toilet facilities were a little shabby but the overall appearance of the place is good.

we had to wait a long time to have our order taken then a long time to be served our food and a long time between dishes. they were very busy and did apologise though.

it has all you expect from a chain restaurant, but it is on the pricey side in my opinion. especially the desserts.

the veggie burger was very tasty although i thought the fries on the side were rather soft and not very chip like.

refillable soft drinks are always a plus and unlike in pizza hut, the waiter was very attentive and kept refilling them without us having to get his attention and ask him.

overall, nice experience but not a unique one.

A classic! A classic so-so restaurant. The only upside were the cocktails - pina colada and singapore sling were done perfectly. And then it went kinda downhill, albeit at a gradual gradient, form there. The only thing special was the fried green beans, big fat green beans fried in batter, a little too salty though. Steaks were nothing to shout about. Vegetables boiled and tossed in a little fat, nothing more. As it was a birthday, they had promised complimentary dessert. Absolutely gobsmacked - one scoop of ice cream on a plate with drizzles of toffee sauce for two persons. That was when the downhill reached a plateau. Service was decent enough though. Definitely not value for money

I have been there more than 10 times within 5 months, always good food (junk food ofcourse but don't we just love it?) and the service is alright. It isn't WOW but it is cool.

I also like the music and the atmorphere/

TGI Friday's is very good. The staff are very friendly.

On our recent visit, the lovely Katja took our order and served us throughout.

So sit at the bar next time if in small group.

Pardon me if I'm wrong but TGI Friday is one of those restaurants that you will expect a warm greeting, friendly & efficient staff, good American food then you should leave the restaurant with a smile cos you enjoyed the whole fun experience. I have been to many TGI Fridays, in the USA, various cities in the UK, Malaysia. However by far it was the worst experience in Covent Garden last Sunday. Myself and another 6 friends were there.

First of all, the hostess was awfully expressionless and he seems like not bothered to answer our questions about how long the waiting time. He said: it's 20 minutes and do you want to wait. After we said yes, he just passed us a machine and said nothing, my friend has to ask for a menu. Honestly, some basic manners/words will be appreciated, ie please & excuse me. I didn't say much as I thought maybe it's Easter weekend that they are busy.

However, we can see plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. Then, I thought again maybe it's Easter weekend that they are short of staff.

Waited for about 10 minutes, a group of 7-8 American tourists walked in to have some desserts, after less than a minute conversation with the hostess, surprising they have a table straight away. Then, the hostess walked back to us (without apology) and said there's a table for us now and walked us there. I can noticed again, the table wasn't occupied by any customer. The Easter excuse came to my mind again.

The waiter came, introduced himself and took our drinks order. Then, he came back to take our food order and shouted out no mushrooms, no mozarella, no chicken wings......without apology again. He was very efficient but I think he is quite rude. After a long wait, the 2 starters arrived after 30 minutes. Portions were smaller than usual and they are not hot enough. Under staff in the kitchen during Easter weekend?

Main courses are slightly better as we just waited less than 10 minutes. Ordered Full rack of rib and Fajitas. Fajitas was disappointed, 2 small pieces of chicken breast & steak cut into slices with onions & peppers, 5 tortilla wraps with some condiments, definitely not worth £13.95.

However, dessert was really good, the chocolate brownie with vanilla is fabulous.

At the end, the bill came to approx £20 each without alcohol. It's not a lot of money I suppose but I don't expect to receive the poor service level like this. Being it's Easter weekend, as a customer, I should be more understandable by expecting to wait for a table and food in most of the restaurants in London. However, there's no excuse to provide rude & poor service, short of food supply and under staff but without any apologies. Very selfish to say this, as a customer, as long as I pay the money, I should expect the same quality of food and service as usual. Otherwise, they should close the restaurant if they can't cope.

Will I go back to TGI Friday again? The answer is definitely not Covent Garden branch.

The food is alright and the staff are friendly, but they are a little bit too contrived for my liking.

the set meal offer for £14.99 and £18.99 works out cheaper if the set menu option is not taken and item are order individually, how can they mess up on this one? one can save up to £2.50 by not taking the meal option

Been in London for 10 months this is the best value for money with a group by far. Well worth registering on their site for specials. Two for one meal deal is a winner and took a group out for my birthday this month and a round of free cocktails and complimentary dessert and balloons and songs. Food is great tasty and fast service, staff are outstanding.
