TGI Friday's (Covent Garden)

I visited the Covent Garden TGI Fridays with a sizable group of friends to celebrate an 18th birthday. As we'd reserved a table we were seated straight away, but found they'd just stuck us in 2 separate booths, so some of us were separated from the rest of our party which ruined the experience a little - there was no apology for this. The orders were taken fairly quickly but took a while to arrive, as did drinks and refills - I was often left without one for ages! When our courses finally arrived they were pretty nice, but just generic TGI stuff, although I think a member of the party who asked for a medium steak was given one not far off cremated. The waiter was also very friendly, but the chaos in the restaurant meant he wasn't overly attentive (see being left without drinks for around an hour). The restaurant was also very noisy which didn't help matters, especially when you've been waiting ages for food or drink and are getting irritable and hungry.
Overall it's a nice restaurant, but avoid it on a friday night or weekend because you may be left disappointed by the slow service and atmosphere. I would not choose to go again because I feel the way they decided to seat us ruined the party a bit and the lack of service was not good enough for what we paid.

Seated quickly but took ages took well over half an hour for anyone to take our food and drinks orders. And then the drinks took ages to arrive. Had they at least brought the drinks promptly, would've kept our large group somewhat happier, and probably meant they got another drinks order was we would have drunk them by the time the food arrived.
Food was generic TGIs fare, so okay but not amazing - and certainly not cheap.
Staff friendly but chronically disorganised, despite the restaurant not being overly busy when we visited.
In future will stick to ordering drinks directly from the bar, ditto any food and just stand around eating it rather than waiting ages and getting annoyed and hungry.

I visited this restaurant with my best mate on Friday 15th July 2011 in evening, which was very busy however we were seated straight away. I ordered the Ultimate Mont Burger was really nice and reasonably priced at £13.99. The food did feel like it was taking a while to come, however it was an excuse for me to drink more Cocktails. I loved the Woo Woo cocktail which came in two sizes (£5.49 for normal and £7.49 for large), which of course the waiter Matthew twisted my arm to go for the large one…. Lol.
Needless to say, I had a wonderful evening and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family, especially if you are looking for a cocktail and food experience under one roof…

I visited TGI Friday on the 24th April 2011. The food was delicious, the waitress service was perfect. and the atmosphere relaxed although this was a bank holiday and very busy.

I visited TGI's on Saturday 28th August 2010, I uised to live nearby and was a regular cuistomer iin the 90's remembering excellent door service, things have obviously changed, the girl on reception was plain rude by clearly ignoring us and not asking what we wanted I.e, to eat and maybe shown to a table, On a lighter note the food was good, waitresses excellent and a very reasonable bill, I would have tipped more if i had been welcomed into the establishment in the first place. I probably won't go back, finding the place a bit dated now and the toilets are not adequate for the amount of people dinig there, oh and my cocktail was not good, tasted much better.
