the food here is amazing - a shame then that the service is absolutely horrendous. - we went on a saturday evening about seven - the place was empty we asked for a table for five - but were told that all the tables were reserved, but we could have a table until eight. so whilst we were eating we were reminded several times that we had only 15 minutes left and then five minutes even though the place was still empty and the people who had reserved the table hadnt even arrived. the staff were really rude as well - surely a little more tact would have been nice so we could eat in peace.

Awful service, I was never treated in a restaurant like this.

They need to learn some customer service first.

I've been here a few times now and love it more everytime. As long as you go at the right time, the service and atmosphere is brilliant. The food is just outstanding and i've not yet found anywhere that can beat it. Would definatley recommend it!

I went to spice rack on a saturday with friends and didnt enjoy it as much as I should because I went there with the wrong mindset - this is stretching the definition of a restaurant.

It felt like eating in the middle of a night club, our table was surrounded by people standing drinking, and putting their glasses on our table, there were flashing lights shining on us and very loud music that made it very difficult to talk even across the table.

The service was shocking. We were ignored when we first came in and had to ask about our booking, then the waiter just walked off without saying a word. They came back and said we had to wait for our table because they were very busy. Obviosuly with the huge birthday party they had attending they hadnt managed the bookings very well. I was also asked for a credit card with no other explanation than to 'hold open our booking' which I have never had at any other restaurant before. We had to wait just a bit too long for our food. When paying the waitress seemed off and stood watching us counting our money so I had to ask her to leave and give us a minute to sort it out.

Apart from all that, the food is very authentic and good value. In the future I would treat Spice Rack as a bar where they serve nice authentic indian snacks, rather than a restaurant.

Spic rack lounge what a place. You must see it to belive it. Food had a really good fresh taste to it the service was ok but spoke to one of the partners he told me that he had worked at regency for ten years and his partners still had shares in regency thats why the place was run very very efficiently. its very dark you can't see the menu thats the only one one bad point i had.

Went out with friends. the food was lovely, but the service was terrible!!

Then at 11.30p.m., we were told twice to leave and third time the bouncer came. It was sooooooooooo!!! insulting. Never have had such a bad experience.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Went here to celebrate a mates birthday (1st Aug).

Food is good and so is service. Had a particular Regency feel to it?

Nice decor and Audio Visual systems. Also nice clean toilets.

Parking can sometimes be a bit of a problem, but you can park in the local supermarket or just outside it in the side alley.

Good atmosphere and nice young vibe on Fridays and Saturdays.

What more can you say? These places are cropping up everywhere now that competition is so tuff such that these places are always pretty good now.

Bill for 7 people inc drinks came to just under 100 pounds.

I believe it's owned by the same people who run the Regency Club in Queensbury, and since the food there is always amazing, I knew we'd be in for a wonderful feast and very reasonably priced.

I wasn't disappointed.....6 of us tucked into indian food that isn't always typical of your local indian restaurant, the portions are just about right and the flavours were spot on. The mixed grill makes a great sharing starter and then the wide selection of dishes means, if you're in a large group, you get to try everyone elses choice too.

Thoroughly recommended even if you're not local to Stanmore, it's easily topped my list of indian restaurants and I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes I haven't had before.
