I have been eating in this restaurant for over 6 years now, and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal. the food is always prepared to the highest of standads. The staff are well turned out, always polite, and all are very knowledgable of their menu. I would add, that almost any item would be prepared for you, should you wish it.

The prices are good to say the least, not jusy for SE1, but for London in general.

This restaurant, i know, doesn't claim to be glamarous or 'chic'. What it lacks in decor and space, it makes up for in abundance with its character, service, grub and cosiness. I work just around the corner in Monument and have been visiting this place without fail every week for the past 6 years. Many of our office parties and business meetings as well as social gatherings take place there - loads of happy memories ! This is a small and friendly family run Indian restaurant and the food never dissapoints. The waiters and the owners are chatty, make you feel welcome and never rush you however busy they get. The food is delicious as well. Loads to choose from the menu but i always opt for my usual which is an onion bhajee for starters, a chicken dish (usually the chicken chilli masala) and rice for main and some creamy mango lassi to finish my meal off with. Add in a few Cobra beers, and it makes for a good wholesome meal. I have recommended this place to many friends and family and they too have had similar experiences like me. One word of warning however, if you plan to take out a large group for a decent and value for money Indian then book ahead as this place is pretty small and gets pretty packed, especially on Thursdays and Fridays. This place has been in London Bridge for years and during my visits i notice many other faces who seem to also share my valued opinion of the place. Repeat custom, deliciously prepared and moderately priced food, friendly service and a cosy atmosphere - i guess these final words sum this place up for me !l

I went to London Bridge Restaurant last week, 16th August 2007 on the recommendation of a colleague and on the fact that there are very few curry houses near London Bridge Station. The decor is very old and its a bit dingy, wth old velvet seating and dark painted walls. The tables were packed together so each time a diner from the nearby table got up we had to shiffle around. We ordered steak chops for starters and a collection of curries and rice dishes for main. The food was very dissapointing as it was ovious from the taste and appearance that everything had been re-heated in a microwave. The chops were thick and under cooked, the balti lamb with a thick sauce and dried lamb were excatly the same dish just in different serving bowls. I am Bengali so know good Indian food and the restaurant is Bengali owned, so I asked the waiter about the dried meat and he said it came that way. The rice was dry and rubbery and the Chicken Korma looked like yellow paint. Overall the food was of poor quality and I would not be going there again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

I have been to this restaurant twice previously. Although the decor is somewhat typical of what you would expect for a restaurant wedged into the railway arches, the food more than made up for it. My only negative perceptions were having to sit next to a party from the local smoking club that ruined an otherwise good meal, and being pestered by a Chinese DVD vendor on the second visit. Now the smoking ban is in I'll be taking a group of friends there next week for hopefully the best meal I've had there!
