Bengal Brasserie

I've been to this restaurant three times in the last couple of months and have experienced excellent service, decent food, a pleasant ambience and fabulous value for money.

We had a meal here last night as a party of 7 (and a baby).

Service was absolutely shocking, to the point that it ruined the meal!

We were told to wait before we could order - about 15 minutes. The list of issues with the service provided was endless (including the waiter sitting down to eat, rather than coming to our table when we'd asked him 3 times for tap water, plus pouring out an entire bottle of wine into 3 extra large glasses (so it goes warm - as you're not likely to drink wine that quickly unless you're on a mission to get plastered, which we weren't); clearing plates before everyone was finished, not telling us for 20 minutes that 2 of the dishes we'd ordered were unavailable, plus waiting over an hour for food).

Having said that, I always think the food is really tasty but will only order take away from there in future - never dine in the restaurant again!

I have been to this restaurant 4 times and on each occasion, the food and service has got steadily worse.

The first time we went, the food was above average, the service pleasant and the bill reasonable. However, on each subsequent occasion, each has deteriorated to the point where the last time we went, the very angry and silent waiter slammed all our dishes down on the table, the food - although freshly prepared - was incredibly bland and swimming in grease and all the while, the manager was having a very loud argument with someone on the phone.

Needless to say, I won't be going back.
