I have just returned from Napket on the Kings Road and feel compelled to tell you all how fabulous it is!!

(I am sooo shocked to see a negative review!)

Napket is the best lunch experience i've had in London in a long time. It feels like a cross between a tiny baroque boutique hotel in Paris and a cute New York deli. I live in Chelsea and am soo happy that we finally have something of this standard. I have already arranged to take girlfriends there next weekend!!

The salads, sandwhiches and cakes are so delicious. Everything is prepeared for you (attentively) on a chic wooden tray and the salad dressings come in trendy little plastic test tubes. There is a fantastic range of juices and teas, I chose pomegranate juice and fresh mint tea.

I sat in the really cute bar area (better than tables if you're alone) chose an album from the ipod built into the bar and had the best lunch ever!

There are only 25 covers so i'm already worried i wont get a seat again after writing this. I just love the ambiance and the cool clientele. It is so small and intimate and incredibly relaxing!

Whats soo suprising is the price!! For the 2 of us for lunch the bill came to £13. (sanwhiches, salads juice and tea)

Not exactly expensive in Chelsea!

Im completely addicted to Napket. Wonderful!

Napket is a place I will never ever visit again. About 3 weeks ago My friend and I was intrigued by this dark little place on Kings Road and decided to go in for lunch. Once inside we were surprisingly NOT greeted by any of their staffs, which included: 1) the blank-faced waitresses running past us with food who didn't know how to say "excuse me", 2) the blank-faced waitresses behind the Pret-A-Manger-type counter who just stared at us silently when we were wondering what to eat, and unbelievably 3) the so-called maître d' who decided just to stand there and watch by the wall in his nicely tailored suit instead of taking us to a table. It's all cold and grim, we felt like we had walked into a no-nonsense Communist prison canteen.

What kind of service was that? I counted there were 6 staffs on the day in this small space measured by 3 x 8 metre containing less than 18 seats. The staff-customer ratio was 1:3, which was extremely high. Still we didn't get any type of proper service. Nowadays even at Mcdonald's you get greeted by someone who knows how to smile. This was totally pathetic!

Food wise, I had the salmon salad, which was not bad. I also had the sundried-tomato and basil scone, which was just too salty. I had two bites and I couldn't eat no more. Not to mention the very over-priced bill.

This place obviously tries too hard to be a "Pret-A-Manger with Kings Road Chic". But I am afraid with this kind of nasty attitude, it just won't last very long.
