i went to café sol the other day with my parents, girlfriend and her parents. Having not booked a table for 7 in advance on a may day weekend, i thought i'd have no chance in getting a table for 8pm. But when i went in and asked for one at about 7:20 when it was full they were more than happy to accomodate for us despite the short notice. Furthermore my parents were 45 mins late meaning that we were holding up a table for 7 for 3/4 of an hour and they didn't seem to mind at all!

I've been before and the food is delicious but i can understand what people mean by its lack of authenticity. However it is very nice! i recommend the steak fajitas! Also my girlfriends little brother complained that his burger was too well done and they had no quarrels whatsoever in bringing him a new one.

It is a nice little place, delightfully tacky with a good, vibrant atmosphere. Also the bottles of beer arent too expensive considering you're bang in the middle of Greenwich!

I highly recommend the place!

I went with my english boyfriend to dinner to Cafe Sol because he wanted to try mexican food cos Im mexican... and what a sad surprise: THAT FOOD IS NO MEXICAN!!! i have no complaints about the quality of the products used to make the strange food they prepared but definitely yes about what they call mexican dishes, i have to say also that the atmosphere was good. i think is a shame the fact they try to cheat on customers selling a fake product taking advantage of the ignorance of people regarding mexican food... I suppose it would be more honest if they say: "these dishes are from nowhere, newly invented by us and they dont taste bad" becasue for me as a mexican to see that menu and that food pretending to be from mexico only caused me 2 things an offence or a laugh.

Went there for a late dinner on 5 October and there were 5 of us. We were served instantly and the staff could not be more attentive. No complaints on the food or the chives!

My boyfriend and I went to Cafe Sol in Greenwich one evening (week nights) last week and had fun. I have been there few times but it was my boyfriend's first time and he's never found any problems. The food was great and affordable. The staff were polite and they were smiling too, which is good. There were only 3 waiters as far as I can remember but we've never waited for our food for a very long time. I'll go back again for my birthday as it's fun and totally different experience. The music is a bit loud but it always make me want to dance.

Well where do I start with this place, my friends and I went into the restaurant and asked for a table for 3 and we were told that we would have to be out at 8:15 (at this time it is roughly 7:00). We thought as we had come all the way lets just stay, so we agreed, the waiter came over, took our order and left. He took sooooo long to bring back any food and time was ticking by.... I had ordered the half & half which was half a rack of ribs and chicken wings, when the food actually came the ribs was the same size as the chicken wings, which were both the same size as my little finger. As we ate the lady that greeted us when we came in was constantly looking over our sholder to see if we had finished yet which was very annoying. The atmosphere was nice, but it is just the arrogance of the members of staff. Also, one of my friends had ordered spicy chicken nachos as a starter, and there was hardly any chicken in it, you were lucky if you did find any chicken. Every single dish was garnished with chives, if I wanted chives I would have asked for them. When we did end up finishing out meal the waitress that greeted us was quick to come and give us our bill even though it wasnt even near 8:15. What kind of service is that??? I will never go back there!!!!

Went 6-9-06, early evening. Not very impressed, having been to the Cafe Sol in Clapham ( and really enjoyed it ) I thought whilst in Greenwich looking for a restuarant we could trust this place, not so. The service was pleasant and fast ( too fast, from packet to microwave for 20 seconds to plate and straight out! ) but the food was awful, I imagined while eating, it being removed from its bulk buy containers and warmed slightly in the microwave, very uninspiring. Also on entry not being asked about smoking or not, it seems you can smoke anywhere inside, and they do, you have been warned. I hope the manager reads a few of these bad reviews and sorts the place out as it gives the Cafe Sol name a bad one!

Great place to eat. Been there several times for nachos and burgers - best in the area - and will certainly go back again soon. Avoid weekends if you are not into loud music (after 11pm fri/sat).

My girlfriend and I popped i for a quick bite Monday lunchtime. The restaurant was dead unsurprisingly but we were made more than welcome. The salad in a taco shell was very tasty, however I think my Surfing Fajitas was just too greasy. I cant say there was much to the flavour either. Shame, but I would give the place another try, maybe when they have more people in.
