Very disappointed with the management team. Was refused entry despite being in a group of girls. Unable to reason with, and completely discriminatory and prejudice staff on the door. PLEASE DO NOT GO!!! I would not recommend to friend or foe!

Terrible, terrible, terrible - I would never go there again if the food was free. Me and my friends went there for diner on Thursday night. We were very disappointed - the food was bland, cold, portions were tiny. My friend ordered a steak and got a burnt, chewy piece of meat, which was inedible. We ordered some cocktails but the waitress forgot about them and we had to ask for them twice - still we only got our drinks after we finished our starters and half way into our main. Music was so loud we couldnt have a conversation and the overal service was poor. I would not recommend this restaurant - if you love Mexican food you will be bitterly disappointed.

First Tex-Mex in a while and glad I tried it. The format is very much like a Chiquitos, with the table organisation at front of house and a fairly modular menu with normal table service thereafter.
I loved the food, and my first taste of fajitas. I seem to remember ordering a few cocktails as well, but this memory is suspiciously hazy. Basically I had a really good time.
Atmosphere - very much as you would expect. Like Chiquitos, but different colour scheme. Very busy (both in decor and with people). Clearly very popular.
Service was very good, considering the juggling they were having to do. I was impressed. And they kept all this up with a smile on their face(s).
Finally it wasn't too expensive at all. Two people ate two courses and an undisclosed number of drinks for around £35 / £40. I'd go back if it were more local. Next time I'm in Greenwich, I probably will.

My daughter and new son in law had their wedding reception in Cafe Sol yesterday and it was lovely. I thought the food was very good and they coped well despite nbt being a traditional venue.
I have eaten there with my daughter before as it is her favourite place to eat and where David and Jessika had ther first date - hence the reception.
I enjoyed my enchilladas very much. The relaxed atmosphere was great and there was no pressure on the stragglers to leave and we were there a long time.

Not the best for food, but the cocktails are AMAZING!
The cocktail maker is such a sweetie and amazingly good at what he does! His cocktails are amazingly pretty and VERY alcoholic - so good value for money (£4.95 each)
That being said, he's probably the only friendly person in the whole place, the head waiter (or I don't know whether he's the manager) is often very stand-offish and the food can sometimes taste microwaved. I would suggest their fajitas and nachos though. It's a really great experience and an awesome place to hang out with friends for pre-dinner drinks!
A lot of people say that they prefer Desperados across the road, but it is incredibly mediocre in comparision and horrifically tacky.
CAFE SOL FOR COCKTAILS, SAN MIGUEL (next to Bullfrogs across the road) for food!
Bon apetite!

I had a good evening at Cafe sol. The service was good. Although when we first got there we had to wait 15 minutes for our table, this was understandable as it was new years eve. When we was seated the atmosphere was great and we ordered straight away. The food took about 5-10 minutes to arrive and when it did it was cooked perfectly and steaming hot. The food was delicious and i would happily eat there again!!!

No, no, no, this is not tex-mex cuisine. The burrito plate was truly mediocre, with rice covered in cheese, tasteless beans and an average burrito. The chips and salsa were ok, but the cup of salsa was tiny. Might be better for drinks.

Just came home from this restaurant this evening and we were very disappointed with the food and service.
My mother in laws meal came out burnt so we sent it back to be replaced. Twenty minutes later, the toddlers were finished and impatient, and there was still no sign of the meal. Basically the new waitress hadn't ordered another one and the manager said we didn't have to pay or we could wait for it. We ordered it as takeaway and were still charged full price eventhough one member of our party had no food to eat during dinner.
A complimentary meal would have left a lot less of a bad taste in our mouth. The music was too loud to hear each other and I wouldn't go here again.

Went on a monday night recently. I haven't been for a while and have to say it really has gone downhill. Restaurant was 2/3 empty but service was still awful. took about 15 mins to order drinks, starters came at different times etc. Shouldn't take over 2 hours for a meal on a monday night. Had fajitas which were very bland.
to cap it all off we refused to pay service and ended up arguing with waiter, who insisted that it was compulsory on tables of 6 or more. Needless to say didn't up paying it and wont be back in a rush!
