Went here for lunch today and i'm afraid to say I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!!

No exaggeration to say that this was the worst micowaved un-fresh food i have had the displeasure of eating. My stomach is still churning at the thought.

Sorry mate, the US' beef is actually head and shoulders above ours... I agree with the other two reviews and that is that the bouncers are thugs and the food is poor. Only come here if you can avoid both. On an up note, the margaritas were wicked

I was here last night as it was a friend's birthday - unfortunatly we found ourselves here form 8.30pm - not a problem as I was in good company - and the bar staff were fairly quick on the old orders - however the problem later emerged where people had to leave the venue to go outside and have a smoke. One of the sober members of the party went out to have a smoke and make a couple of phone calls in slightly quieter surroundings (if you can call Old Street quieter). Well it turns out they start charging entry from about 9pm onwards. Not a problem you would think but given that it was older after 12 and other people who had been in before 9pm were being granted free entry you would expect this to be a general trend. Well unfortunatly this below average venue employs Thugs as bouncers. If their night isn't going so well they like to create their own entertainment by picking on sober patrons who have already spent the night in the venue. They proceeded to try and break his wrists as he tried to come back in. And then they tried to do him extra damage as he went to take a photo to use as evidence for their poor behaviour - a photo was never taken and my friend was left with severly bruised wrists despite being civilised and sober as well as well dressed! A Bad venue that we won't be coming back too

The quality of the so-called Tex Mex food served is poor. Very few restaurants in London will actually pay to import high quality US beef to use in their meals. El Paso is no different and it suffers for it. Consequently it does not come close to offering the high quality of US tex mex cuisine. The rest of the menu reads like a typical Tex Mex menu but everything tastes bland. Something was lost in translation. I also have a real problem with restaurants using 0870 and 0871 numbers where they charge you premium rates to book a reservation. It is a scam.

We have been here 3 times after work now. The Staff are great, no pressure to order right away. The food is great, and the shooters interesting! Normally get a round of shots on the house.

As one of the other reviewers said, the food here is tame and a little stodgy compared to the Mexican food you'll get in the States -- however, it's good value, freshly cooked, the atmosphere is sociable, the portions are huge and the beer is cold. Service is generally fine as long as they're not over-busy.

Highlight:- huge portions of sticky ribs

Low point:- burritos and other wraps are disappointing

Well, what a surprise to find such a down-to-earth bar in Shoreditch! I hang out in the area a lot and find that this one of the few places I can just be myself. The place is not like the other “Trendy Cocktail Bars” around, but that is what gives it its charm. I found the food to be mid range but you get a good size for your buck and the list of shooters and cocktails is endless.

I found the service to be good, by far the fastest pint you can get in the area and when you get there during Happy Hour, one of the cheapest. Also Saturday nights are great, as they are open till 4 am and charge very little to get in.

There is room however for improvement in the general appearance of the place and a lick of paint in the toilets wouldn’t go a miss.

This is by no means a 5 star restaurant/ bar/ club but then it doesn’t pretend to be.
