I was a lil shocked by this one!!!
The food was amazing!!!!
The service was brilliant!!!!
The manager even described the particulars of our food to us as it arrived!!!!
I pass it everyday on the way to work-but only now appreciate its true greatness!!!

go to this restaurant instead of erki. i walked past it a number of times and never thought it would be anything special but it's really good. the seafood etc looked great but this time we decided to try vegetables only which can be hit and miss in some indian restaurants. we had a great masala dosa which was fresh and crispy with a flavoursome potato filling with a lovely coconut edge to it, great flavour paneer tikka which was drizzled with a rich sharp sauce and beetroot salad, for mains we just had a simple dahl of the day which was cooked perfectly and full of flavour, an aloo gobi which was sharp and distinct in it's flavours, and a spinach dish which complemented the others well.
i'm generally disappointed with local indian food as i find it over spicy, dishes often taste the same, and i feel ill after. atma seem to create dishes that have distinct clear flavours to savour. phew. delighted to have found this place.
i can't wait to return to get trying the meat dishes...

Friday was buzzing! at Atma with us has to wait for 15-20 mins before our starters came, but we forgot about the wait looking at the beautifully presented Masala Dosa and Mix Grill with atma salad. Although mains took a little longer but our Gosht Dum Biryani and Saffron Rabbit was delicious....and exceeded my expectation for this GEM in our Swiss Cottage area. By far the best Indian food and the most hospitable and gentle staff.

Heard food critic Charles Campion singing Atma's praises on the radio last week ( he rates it in his top 5 best local London restaurants) and decided to give it a try this weekend. We had dinner there on Saturday evening and were very impressed. The decor is stylish and contemporary with subdued lighting and candles flickering on the tables and immaculate crisp white linen tablecloths. The windows are double glazed so you don't hear any traffic noise from the Finchley road. The staff are very professional, with just the right balance of discretion and attentiveness. The menu is contemporary Indian and our meal was fantastic and beautifully presented- my starter of spicy potato tikki on a bed of chickpeas was fabulous and my husband's chicken masala pancake looked great & was full of delicate flavours. Our main courses of duck & chicken were even better and I would say that the rice and naan were some of the best I have had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living in the NW area or further afield ( it's only a few yards from Finchley road tube station.)

Been here 3 or 4 times after having read Matthew Lewins/Fay Maschler
and even Victoria Prever of the Ham and High all of them praised it
highly.
Its on the Finchley road but the restaurant has good insulation so you
dont hear the traffic the interior is calming and the staff are gracious and
charming in a genuine way.
W e always have the taster menu where each course is described as it arrives
unlike nearly all Indian restaurants the sauces are restrained and
delicate each dish is a success and you are pleased when asked to say
"it was delicious" and mean it.
It seems to be getting busier which I am pleased about.
Having eaten at Rasoi , and Zaika and the usual chains such as Bombay Bicycle
Club it was interesting to compare,
I rate this place highly its not as "sexy " as Zaika but the food is better ,its not
as sterile as Rasoi indeed where I had their "taster " menu it was good but
towards the end I felt like saying "no more . please!"
If you live in the area , Finchley , St .Johns Wood , Hampstead , go you wont regret it and have what they call the Atmas Ark taster menu.
