Totally agree, been to fishworks, and the fish was overcooked on several occasions. this is not what you would expect from a restaurant that is suppose to specialise in fish.

What more the restaurant offers cookery school, what a complete an utter JOKE.

The one thing that made me want to stay is the ok service.

I have been to many fish restaurants before, and I find that high-class restaurants and chained restaurant like fishworks are complete rubbish. and all they are after is your money.

Booked table for 7pm on line and got booking confirmation and advice that expected to leave by 8.30pm - rang company and grudgingly extended to 9pm with words that they are very busy on a Saturday. Irritated even before setting foot in the place so cancelled - don't think they like customers only their money. I have not and will not eat in such restaurants.

Once again it was time to treat my lovely husband to a birthday meal, and I was racking my brains to think of a good restaurant to take him to. Not a big deal, you say.... but my young man is hard to please!! Not only is he from THE NORTH (so nothing too expensive), he is very ,shall we say, limited in his food experience. I decided on The Fishworks in Richmond to which I had been for lunch with my mum when they first opened and I have to say it was sheer pleasure from start to finish. The staff were all delightfully friendly and couldn't do enough, while at the same time not coming across patronising. Our waitress was lovely and even brought a little brownie with a candle in it at the end of the meal for the birthday boy. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the food was delicious. We shared a Platter Des Fruit De Mer which was everything we hoped for. Best of all there were no fainting spells at the unveiling of the bill. All in all a wonderful place to which we will definately return.
