Being Mexican I am always extremely sceptical of any place that claims to have Mexican food (it's always Tex-Mex!). A Polish friend suggested going to this place together for obvious reasons.
The atmosphere was nice and cozy, very Eastern European feeling (with the odd Speedy Gonzalez figurine for that "Mexican" touch).
Drinks - had some "tatanka" which is Polish vodka with apple juice and lemon mmmm! Suprisingly not a single Mexican drink on the menu: no Sol or Corona, let alone any tequila!
Food: After having looked at the "Mexican" part of the menu I didn't dare trying it because it would go against my principles, but my friend seem to enjoy the seafood enchiladas (a bit too spicy).
I went for grilled mozzarella as a starter (yummy) and then blinis, a very substantiate and tasty Eastern European dish consisting of pancakes with chicken, sour cream and almonds. Really liked it.
Service: prompt and friendly staff
In summary a nice and cozy place but the half-hearted approach to make it bi-cultural didn't do it for me. As I suspected, the Polish and Mexican (or should I say Tex-Mex in this case) cuisines have nothing in common and are best kept apart.

My friend gave me the address of this little restaurant and I have to agree, the food is out of this world, great taste, nicely presented and served hot as it should be. The place is warm, the only let down is the service, having a waitress that can only say "Everything is nice", and thinks the size of the tip is equal to how much flesh you show lacks a bit of class. Summary go foor the food and forget the service.

I am polish and I have to say I was bit dissapointed with the food and suprised with the prices (too high in my opinion).
The service was good and staff very friendly, however if you really want to try polish food there is a couple of other places in London I would go to.

Er, I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something, but this was frankly one of the worst restaurants I've ever frequented. Mexican and Polish is a bizarre combination that simply doesn't work. The food was largely tasteless or rubbery. The only good thing was the reasonably priced champagne, but I'm afraid that's not really a good enough reason for eating anywhere. Sorry. The service was nice, and the atmosphere relaxed and cosy, but the food horrendous. Sorry.

A friend of mine pointed this place out to me and considering that my father was polish and my mother mexican, I could not wait to try it. I went last week for lunch with another Polish friend of mine and was not disappointed.
We feasted on Golubki and Pierrogi and they were both fabulous. It is a very home-like atmosphere and the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Highly recommended

I stay in mayfair often and love this little restaurant. the food is great, simple and fresh. Their price for champagne is very resonable. So, I go back often.

A fabulous surprise hidden in the market streets of old Mayfair. It was a mid-winter, rainy Sunday evening and not many options presented themselves for a warm meal when we stumbled on L'Autre. After a dubious glance at the menu we decided to give it a try. The food was marvelous! The sauces were flavourful without being overwhelming; the vegetables were cooked to perfection being neither too crisp nor too limp. There was a small but highly complementary selection of wines to match the dishes. The meal ended with a hard-to-choose variety of deserts. We expected to pay Mayfair prices and were pleasantly surprised by a reasonable bill for an outstanding meal. Ignore the comments about the rude service (just not true) and the slightly dusty decor (ok, that part IS true) and just enjoy your first Polish/Mexican meal!
