Pizzeria Oregano

I've been to several pizzerias in London and Oregano was very, very good! I went on a Saturday afternoon. Food was yummy!! I definitely recommend the lentil soup if it's on the specials.

The atmosphere is not of a fancy or posh place but the food really compensates for that!

Had dinner there with other Italian friends. Food is not bad but not worth a 8 or 9 mark! I had calamari which were fresh and well fried. Pizza is just OK, since the dough is more similar to bread than the original soft napolitan pizza base... The place is really basic so don't expect a great atmosphere.

I've been back to this restaurant numerous times! Im Italian so i no what italian food is meant to taste like and i must say, its just like MAMA makes it!!

Service is very attentive; but not overpowering. In terms of cleanliness the restaurant is spotless. The pizza man has a wooden oven which is rare in london but very common in italy, he also has a few tricks up his sleeve which kids and adults love. The portion are humongous concidering the prices are very resonable.

P.s The warm chocolate cake and ice-cream is a must, do not go here without ordering this desert..

we visited Oregano the 29 of August for a quick meal.Perhaps our order was too simple(2 pizze margherita,1 coke,1 beer)to shower Oregano with praise and compliments.

However the pizze were rather wonderful,miles away from those terrifying concoctions on offer on the better known chains.

Furthermore ,service was charming and attentive,and our bill was certainly reasonable.

Recommended.

This place is great - the best pizzas and calamari in London . Family run it has great service from friendly waiting staff and a wonderful atmosphere when busy .

Simple food cooked well and seved by nice people , it is easily our favourite place in Islington .
