I have eaten there before and I have to say that the food was quite nice. However last Bank Holiday Monday I did not even get to try their cuisine as I left before ordering. We were made to wait 35 minutes (!!!) for a waitress to take our orders. And it was not even busy! I understand that the kitchen might get busy at times but surely someone could have come and at least offer some drinks. Upon arrival we were given menus by a waitress and I informed her that we would sit downstairs, after waiting for some 35 minutes we just left hungry.

Together with two friends, my wife and I have been eating our way round the world. No international travel involved, just a little surfing the net to find eating places that are within a 30 or so mile radius. This month our stop off was to be Poland.
We read the reviews of Cafe Grove on this site and so visted last night.
We had a wonderful meal. The service was good, the restaurant was basic but confortable and the food was excellent. Not expensive, we had two rounds of drinks, four starters, four main meals, one sweet and three coffees.......and all for less than £80.00.

Took my parents out to lunch here after reading the reviews on this site. My Dad is Polish and loves his food and it sounded an ideal place. It was. It absolutely lived up to all the positive comments people have posted here.
Cafe Grove is very relaxed and low key place to eat, but the service was excellent. Our friendly Polish waitress was extremely helpful and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The menu offered and excellent range of food and drink, with all the Polish culinary classics available along with good vodkas and Polish beers. And the food did not disappoint. Nothing too elaborate or pretentious. Just good, wholesome home-style cooking but with some genuine flair. The quality held up from the starters through the main courses to the puddings (check out those pancakes!) and coffee. And the bill was simply reasonable.
How nice to find such good value, good quality, unpretentious dining flourishing in the London suburbs. My only word of warning: take the tube because parking around there is a nightmare.

This is the second London Polish restaurant I've been to. Wodka may be the most famous in London but Cafe Grove is far better. The food is fresh and tastes homemade. The wait staff is friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and even a touch romantic. I can't say enough good things about the place! I will definitely go back again and again.

We stumbled on this place when out for a walk. We did not know what to expect. I ordered a Gypsy Pancake and a Polish Beer and it was the most enjoyable meal I have had since moving to London two years ago. The service is friendly. The food is cheap. We have been twice now and going again at the weekend. If you want good food at a good price this place is excellent. We could not understand why it is not packed with people. I have been to other highly rated places when I lived in Chiswick but this place is a real find. It is not often I feel the need to write a positive review as I usually complain in my reviews about London restaurants. Highly recommended.

I went to several Polish restaurants in London, but must admit that only here the food reminds me of what my grandma used to cook! :) I take all my non-Polish friends over there if they ask me for a good and honest food from my country.
It is also nice to sit over lunch outside, as they have two tables there, which during sunny weather are always our favorites. The prices are also very reasonable, large portions for under 10 £.
I would definitely recommend kopytka (kind of potato dumplings), pierogi and chicken de volaille as I like them most.
Having said all this, I agree with the previous reviewer, that this place would need a "woman's touch", as it looks a little bit run down. I find it a great shame, since the food is sooo good.
Another thing worth mentioning, if you go there for lunch, factor in about 15 minutes waitng for the food to arrive. On a Saturday/Sunday it can take even longer, so it's definitely recommended to order a starter. The waitresses are very friendly and service is good.

The perfect spot for lunch, in an open yet quiet street in the midst of the "queen of the suburbs", this Ealing eaterie serves simple, unfussy home cooked fair. A wide selected of classic Polish dishes are served in an unhurried fashion. The imported beers are a winner as well. Great value for money as well.
