The Westbridge Public House & Dining Rooms

Having stuck with the Westbridge I think it can now be said that they are on the right track. The "pub classics" are all well-executed. the hamburger is delicious. Ostensibly it is a £1 cheaper than the equivalent at Butcher & Grill down the road. But it comes with chips and salad (whooppee) so is a comparatively a steal.
the Fish & Chips is what makes it impossible to get a table on Friday (book!).
The gastro food seems to be improving. I was prompted to write this review by a delicious, suprisingly precise lamb Tagine today.
But the real charm of the place is that it is just so DAMNED friendly and relaxed. I find myself spending unnatural amounts of time there. Nice looking birds too.

This is an example that change is not always a good thing. The variety and quality of the food that is available now is terrible compared to what it was in March of this year. It’s a great place to have a quiet drink but nothing more. It’s a real shame as it’s a great space with great staff. A new chef that is willing to stick around would do the trick. I wont be going back until this changes.
