I used to go to The Spice room a lot end of 2009, beginning of 2010, food was absolutely fantastic. Then throughout the year, the portions became less and the prices increased. Stayed away from it for a while, and then we returned on the 14th May 2010, it was shocking to see the portions had gone even smaller. I am never going there again. I used to be a regular and now they have lost a customer for sure.

They suggested we get 'Aloo Tikki', an indian potato bhaji, and we only got 2 small pieces of it for £5.

The staff are great, but it is just dispicable how their prices have increased so much, and they portions are tiny. A starter could be enough for one person, rather than to share.

In my opinion, do not go there, your wasting your time, there are plenty more better places out there.

I have been to The Spice room a few times already and every single time I go I am always impressed with their food and service

This is a typically indian cuisine with a touch of westernised atmosphere. The seating is extremely comfortable as they have a wide dining hall and some sofa type chairs on certain areas of the where big groups or family can accomodate themselves and enjoy a lovely pleasant meal.

What I love also about this place is that you can sit on a table and the big modern bar is just on sight and the kitchen where the food is prepared can be seen through a wide opening giving a full view of the interior and the staff going around preparing food.

The times I dined there with my wife and two little ones I asked for the food to be milder for the children while ours to be hot and the servings came exactly to taste and my children love it. Their "daal" is one of the dishes I always order and its always superbly spiced with aromatic herbs sprinkled on top and hot with green chillis just as I always ask from the chef. One of the other dishes I also love here and order frequently is tiger prawns, and they always come very nicely done piping hot in a plate emanating all the flavours of the condiments that its prepared in.

The staff is extremely friendly and the chef Tarun will always come to the table and extend his greetings and personally ask if the food is to our taste. A very nice gesture from his part as during the first couple of visits I would approach the kitchen opening through the restaurant and say hello to him and remind him of the dishes for the children to be less spiced. From then on he has become very familiarised with us and will always take the time to approach the table and greet us.

The manager Igor is fantastically efficient and friendly. He is extremely popular with diners as his sociability is second to none. Always reaching out to customers welcoming them and making them feel comfortable, organising the right seatings for families and providing help and advice with choosing the dishes etc.

NIck, the owner will often be there also and giving his full attention to the diners and helping out with the managerial tasks. He is extremely friendly and very sociable and will also give his personal attention to each diner in the restaurant. It seems that most people who come here are frequent users of the restaurant as you can clearly get a feel of familiarity and warm atmosphere of the place and staff themselves.

The Spice Room is one place I would recommend you visit if you want to enjoy a good meal out if you are around Northwest London, or if you want to book a hall for a function as they have a fantastic eating area and cater for functions also.

They are open only for dinners as they do not serve lunch.

I had a birthday party here with a very large group. There was a mix up on the guest list, the names were ticked twice (eg: Jaya was ticked twice when only one Jaya had turned up and a few more. Also the whole of the guest list was ticked off by the waiter when not all the guests had attended.

I must say that the food is quite nice, but the portions are really small. The buffet we were served was too small for adults. I would not recommend this place to anyone if they are thinking of partying, the staff don't compromise.

If you are looking for quality, service and a genually amazing ambience, go to The Spice Room. Appreciate good food - albeit at a price.

The music, the decor etc make you feel like you are abroad in a relaxing, sunny tropical paradise.

My favourite dishes have to be the following: Lamb Chops. Chicken Makhni. Salt and Pepper vegitables

I have been there circa 20 times this year and have also introduced family and friends.

Hope you enjoy it as much as me!

If you are looking to have large party at this venue (The Spice Room) I would never recommend this place. We booked a paid a deposit for a large party and within 2 weeks of giving the deposit, we found out the it would not be large enough to hold so many people. The manager told us verbally that if we gave him enough notice that he would refund our deposit back. I have made several phone calls and have even asked to speak to the venue owner and have got no where. 3 months later I was told that we should have read the small print that was on the form that we signed. We gave a depost in good faith for £200 and to my dismay the manager has denied that he promised us a refund.

This is a gentle warning for those of you who would be thinking about doing the same.

I have dined here with my family a number of times, and always had great food and service - so it seemed a natural choice for a family party. The family is an English / Indian mix, so includes a number of people who know trheir Indian food very well! We had a fantastic party. The food was perfect, and the service could not have been better. The maitre d', Igor could not have been a better host. Unreservedly reconmmend the Spice Room, and we will certainly go back there for any other family event.
