Some friends and I went to this Gaucho location for the first time. I have been to some of the other locations and thought we should try this as it was a friend's birthday.

We had drinks upstairs. The view was everything you could imagine. My friend who was celebrating her birthday was really impressed.

The service was friendly and knowledgeable. Our server semm to know everything about the cuts of steaks and suggested that their wine expert come over to suggest a wine to go with our dinner.

While it is not a cheap night out, it was definately worth every pence we spent.

Would definately reccommend this experience to anyone interested in a first class evening out.

Terrible, really awful - possibly the worst steak restaurant in Britain. It is meant to have an Argentinian theme and food - well the decor is not or the steak as imports are banned from there.

I really cannot find words to describe the whole disaster of an evening. Non existent service by an unfriendly waitress, chewy meat, soggy chips, warm room, overpriced wine and after enduring all this be prepared to pay around 85 pounds per head. It is a chain restaurant like Garfunkels. At this price there are many better places to eat including pubs. If you want to eat a decent steak go to The Rib Room at the Carlton hotel Knightsbridge - same price but a million times better.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I was in London visiting a friend and within that time we ate at Gaucho, Tower Bridge location 3 times!

The atmosphere is amazing and the view of Tower Bridge... PRICELESS! The decor of the restaurant is very chic and inviting. We had reservations the first time we went. We arrived and were led upstairs to the bar where we had a few drinks and waited for our table, the wait was long but we didn't mind, the view of Tower Bridge was amazing and the mojitos were the the best i had ever had.

The filet melted in your mouth. I had the bernaise sauce with my steak and i couldn't help myself from smiling while i ate it.. it was THAT good.

All of the waitresses we had were very help and attentive. I would take an overnight flight back to London just to eat there again.. I think about the filet and mojitos often. They need to open a Gaucho here in the U.S.

I went Saturday with my husband and another couple, and we loved the place. We were seated in a lovely part of the restaurant with a stunning view of Tower Bridge.

The place had a lively atmosphere and the decor was great.

The food was lovely, the others had a starter and were a little dissapointed, but the main course was beautiful, we all agreed, we all had steaks and a number of side dishes and they were faultless.

Also we had excellent service, our waiter could'nt have been nicer, not to in your face, but there when you needed him and with plenty of advice about the food, and very friendly.

I've been to a lot of top restaurants and i would rank this as one of the best meals and service i've had.

I will definitley go there again.

Went last Saturday for lunch at Gaucho, and all in all a little dissapointed.

Service was good and the atmosphere was nice, however it was the food that let the side down.

Starters were okay but very small, side dishes were better, but it was the steaks that that we came for and they were poor for the price. Lacked flavour, to much gristle and overcooked. A lot of my friends love Gaucho so I will give them another go.

On the plus side like I said service was good and wine list was also good, if a little expensive ( £31.95 for a Malbec from Masi).

Cheesecake for dessert was great.

Visited here on Tuesday for another excellent steak. We were in a group of four and the restaurant was busy (downstairs if not upstairs with the techno music).

Service was friendly and speedy, though the wine reccomendation was not quite what we were looking for.

My rib eye was delicious, and all the members of the party enjoyed their steaks, though one was returned as overcooked with minimal fuss.

Dessert (dulce de leche cheesecake) was not really as good as it could have been but still good.

So a really good meal, and I was happy to pay the somewhat extravagant prices for the quality of the beef and the preparation.

The only downside was that they lost my coat and made me miss my train.....not a great end to the evening.

As a local resident I have been going to Gaucho Tower Bridge regularly since it opened in the summer last year, and have been regularly going to other Gauchos around London for years. This restaurant started great but my last two visits have been a real disappointment. The food continues to be of a good standard, and whilst a little pricey for what you get I do love the spiral cut marinated filet. The service has become a real problem though.

I went on 21 December with my husband and a friend and we were in a very celebratory mood, Christmas was upon us, my husband has signed a big project that evening and we were off on our hols. With that in mind we ordered a bottle of Krug and the waitress looked at me as though I had grown a second head, it was reminiscent of the scene in Pretty Woman were Julia Roberts is told that everything in the store is very expensive. So when I convinced her that it was what we wanted and yes I had seen the price, off she went not to be seen for a good 20 minutes or so. It took her another 15 minutes after serving the champagne to come and take our dinner order, when that was served we were missing a few items which we eventually gave up waiting for as our steaks were getting cold, and they turned up when we were about 60% done.

By now the champagne and wine were done and we debated a liqueur coffee in lieu of a desert, as it took her so long to come and ask us if we wanted anything else we decided to call it quits and get the bill. Then we asked again, and eventually on the third asking when our mood has been completely spoilt she brought it.

I could accept this if it were a busy night but the restaurant wasn’t close to full and there were plenty of staff on, she wasn’t even around so that we could catch her eye as she wandered past, she just disappeared for 15 minutes at a time.

Simply not good enough and I am so disappointed that I have lost the love for one of my favourite locals.

Contrary to the reviews below, I found the service pretty good. I booked a table for 2 via the internet. It was not ready when we arrived so had to have a drink at the bar. The waiters were swift thereafter.

The real let down is the pricing for, quite frankly, unexceptional food and wine. (7 quid for a gin and tonic?). Side orders: 5 quid each. I know this is London but even then, this is too much. We ended up paying 80 pounds overall for a meal without starters and deserts (there was a huge overhead on wine, I suspect).

This might be due to the location, but then be aware that it is what you are paying for (rather than for food). Also, the (quite loud) techno music might not be for everyone's taste.
