I have been going to the Harbour City for nearly 30 years my Singaporean wife will eat Dim Sum no where else when we visit London. The service is very Chinese (If you don't like it don't come again cause there are thousands of others who will!) I have never been treated other than with respect, the restaurant is very busy and how the staff handle the stress I don't really know. As western people can be so very rude yet expect to be treated like royalty. So be wise be nice be understanding and you'll have a great meal. Our next vist 5th Feb 2011

My last 4 trips to London have included ameal in Harbour City. My sister who lives in South Africa insists we go there for a meal when we are in in London at the same time. The service is not the best (the waitstaf f can be a little rude) but the food is well-worth putting up with the staff. (Last time we were there one of the members of BBC's "Last Restaurant Standing" was waiting for a table).

We always order a variety of appetizers and never disappointed 5 stars from me!

A really disappointing experience. We went for lunch with friends after seeing the restaurant recommended in Time Out's guide. Service was brusque and rude. One member of our party's meal arrived 30 minutes after everyone else's, despite several queries to waiting staff who were dismissive and unhelpful. When we spoke to the manager he suggested that it was our fault for not having specifically instructed the waitress that we all wished to receive our meals at the same time. Hopefully just a one off for a restaurant which has received so many good reviews but we won't be returning.

Our 53rd wedding anniversary, and wanted to treat my long-suffering husband. We have had some terrible meals in London, so I was hoping this would be good. I just liked the look of it from the street, knew nothing about Harbour City. Inside, very clean and a polite, warm but not over-the-top greeting. Toilets excellent, spotless with soap and hot and cold water.

The wonton soup was of the very best. We are gourmets and know our Chinese! The crispy duck was excllent and carved and shredded before our eyes. Vegetables and chicken were all good. Egg Rice, average, but who's complaining?. One fault only. 10% is removed for service. I would have left more, but as it was taken off, I just added a few pounds. The service was polite, efficient, friendly and altogether a delight.

Friday, August 28, 2009 - I only come here for the Dim Sum. Together with Phoenix Palace, these two are one of the few places in London that are faithful to the traditional fayre that's found in Hong Kong. You're more likely to find older Chinese diners here than the younger ones who prefer a buzzier ambience and 21st century interference on the dishes...If this place is good enough for me and as it so happens, Marco Pierre White likewise, then it's likely that you'll be satisfied as well.
