I was one of a party of eight lucky enough to visit this establishment on Saturday evening to celebrate a close friend's birthday. Everyone of us had the most enjoyable time; the food was fabulous, the staff very accommodating and the surroundings were just perfect. I can't wait until my next visit!!

My husband and I have visited on several occasions and have always been well received. This is not a place for fast food and fast service, it is about pleasure and enjoyment of inspirational food in a relaxed setting.

The menu changes constantly to reflect the seasons and there is always an element of surprise.

I was sad to read that one reviewer did not feel their portion was large enough! If you are polite, you can always ask for more. I think the chef would see it as a complement to his fine food. It is too easy to complain afterwards. If you are not happy at any stage, your host would like you to share it with them, then and there so that it can be rectified.

There are so few restaurants/bars of this kind in our area producing such fine food at still affordable prices. Let us rejoice that we have one here at The Mulberry Tree.

I took three friends to the restaurant on Saturday and we were all very impressed with the food. We felt the ambience of the place was a little lacking as it's a new build and quite bland but the staff were very friendly and willing and gave us superb service. We were never rushed but weren't kept waiting long for our food. We will certainly go again.

I consider my dining out experience to be fairly extensive ranging from the fat duck to the local greasy spoon, so it was with pleasure that I and a group of equally well seasoned diners arrived at The Mulberry tree.

The decor is modern and clean and the ambience buzzing. We approached the bar where an middle aged man was working and attempted to catch his eye.

This was unsuccessful and we were promptly ignored for a full 5 minutes.

Eventually a very sweet girl asked if we were being helped and was very attentive thereafter.

We were shown to our table which we all found very comfortable but rather dark. Menus were read and we made our choices. I chose the deep fried calves tongue which I found to be woefully over done and therefore tough, all my fellow diners agreed although their starters had been good.

I awaited the partridge I had ordered with anticipation as it is one of my favourite options. Imagine my disappointment when it arrived an I was virtually unable to cut through the skin as it was so underdone. On investigation (using a keyring torch as it was so dark in our corner) all agreed it should be sent back as it was still transparent and bloody, and it was returned with a message from the chef saying that it was cooked perfectly but he would cook it more for me if I wanted. This being the reason I had sent it back in the first place, I told the waitress not to bother. We all laughed at his rudeness, and as it was MY birthday celebration meal, finished up quickly, paid our bill and have put a big black cross through the mulberry tree as a potential for our custom.

What was once a spit and sawdust pub (The Red House) this place has undergone a real transformation. The chef Alan Irwin a scotsman has a great pedigree having previously worked for a number of years at Chapter One as a sous chef... the food here is as good with some really memorable dishes. The Slow roasted Pork belly or the braised ham with outstanding creamy mash were much enjoyed. Puds lacked a little imagination on our recent visit but the chef apparently had been away on maternity leave for a few days so suspect was playing catch up... overall this was seriously great food and was on a par with places like Apicius in Cranbrook or the West House in Biddenden..less formal and more akin to the Sportsman at Seasalter... we will return and would thoroughly recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and had high expectations having read all the wonderful reviews...but have to say we were all really disappointed when our slow roast beef arrived - it was beautifully cooked, tasted delicious, but what a mean portion - just one thin slice. Hardly what you would expect from a £12.95 Sunday Lunch plate! However, apart from this major disappointment, have to say the service was fine, the roast potatoes were good, and most of the vegetables were delicious. The yorkshire pudding - high on appearance low on taste! With three teenage boys, three adults and one 9 year old all disappointed we won't be going back!

Have just visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch for the first time after it had been recomended to us. We found the food good with a wide selection on the menu mking it difficult to choose. The service was good and we were made welcome. Felt the prices were a little bit high but we will certainly be back

We visited The Mulberry Tree with twelve of our friends for my birthday. We were all extremely impressed with the quality of the food. Which was delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. Considering the size of our party and that the restaurant was full, we could not fault the service. We will definitely be returning.
