If you are more concerned about the quality of the service, the decor, the carpet, being treated like royalty by the staff, the size of the bathroom, the quality of the hand towels, having someone place a napkin on your lap, or whatever else that supposedly matters in posh restaurants these days, then the Four Seasons is most definitely not for you!!

If however you are someone who enjoys fantastically delicious food that will make you return again and again, served up quickly and efficiently in a hustle and bustle atmosphere, surrounded by regulars who recognise that the quality and taste of the food is amongst the best Chinese you will experience in London, then you should most definitely eat at the Four Seasons on Queensway.

I have lived in Bayswater for more than fifteen years. I have eaten at every one of the dozen or so Chinese restaurants on Queensway at various times. The Four Seasons though is the one I return to again and again if I want a simple, quick, amazingly delicious meal whether it be takeaway or eat in. This is where I bring visitors from overseas.

The staff are not rude at all. They are efficient. They are quick. They are brusque. But they get you seated as quickly as possible, and sooner or later you are tucking into a memorable feast. They are not here to pamper to you and your ego. They here to serve you the tasty food you want, and get people to a table as quickly and efficiently as possible. End of.

Don't miss the roast duck off the bone. Some say it is the best in London. Some say it is the best in the UK. Others say it is the best in Europe! I will simply say it is awesome, and not to be missed. I always order that, and then sample the numerous other dishes.

I have been to plenty of Chinese restaurants in the UK. What I can say is that here, Four Seasons Bayswater, is the worst. No service mind. All staff were not helping at all. Not only were they aggressive, but also impolite and rude.

THE WORST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN THE UK!

Absolutely ridiculous!!!

We didn't even eat there, just to get a taste of restaurants bad hospitality.

People who work in this restaurant are aggressive and brutal. It feels like they come from uncivilized country, where people are treat with disrespect and discriminated.

Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this wasp nest.

Good or Bad Depend on the branch you go. I have been to 4 seasons for 5 times Gerrard st 4 times , once at Bayswater.

I love Gerrard st branch because their service is good and the food also good and I really love this branch, it is worth every pounds.

However, Bayswater branch (my friend wanted to go there, they think it is the most famous branch) is so bad quality. I booked the table before about 6 hrs and reached there before reservation time for half hour but we have to wait for the table for an hour, all staff are so rude and food provided in smaller portion when compare with Gerrard st branch.

If any one would like to experience the best roasted duck with good service I absolutely recommend the four seasons-Gerrard Street branch.

Caution!!! DO NOT GO TO 4 seasons BAYSWATER branch. it is something extremely opposite to heaven.

Don't understand some of the whinging comments about this place.

Four of us visited on Saturday evening and had a superb meal. We had booked for 7.30, arrived just before the appointed time and had to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a table to become free. But no worries, we understand they need to make full use of the (smallish) area available, especially on a busy Saturday evening. It's true that there is a bit of a scramble around the doorway with take-away customers, booked customers and chancers who are just checking to see how long they will need to wait. As soon as we saw our name on the clipboard we were happy to wait a few minutes.

Once seated I would not have been surprised if service had been brusque, especially as they were so busy, but on the contrary, our waiter was charming and sorted out drinks immediately. All our food arrived promptly, among the highlights were delicious hot & sour soup, fab sweet/sour pork, scrummy spicy chicken and best of all, the sizzling fillet steak.

We were never rushed, bill arrived (unitemized) but knowing there was probably 10% already added, it all added up OK. With two bottles of wine we had a lovely feast for under £30 per head.

We have been here on previous occasions also with no problems.

This is a proper chinese restaurant, not a poncey boot-licking establishment. Get real, you fussy folk out there....

Went to the Four Seasons branch in chinatown. I regretted going there. Bad service!!!! The waiter was rude and rushing for me to leave asap. He even put the new change of table paper on my table to drop his 'big' hint and kept coming by my table to clean everything asap. He had the gall to tell me that there were other people waiting downstairs for a seat - said it in Chinese so the other customers could not understand. On top of that they charged me >10% service charge. When I left, the truth was, there was no queue and no one waiting for a table. Damn liars!!!! Told the guy-in-charge downstairs just before leaving, he just shrug his shoulders. Couldn't care less Won't go back.

If you order the roast duck instead of the crispy duck pancakes you'll have an amazing food experience. It's true that service is not very friendly but if you are after good, reasonable price food this is your place!!

I can't wait to go back.

what the bloggers say

Pig Pig's Corner

Pig Pig's Corner

Friday, June 26, 2009 - Our love affair with Four Seasons continued well into our university days, meeting up quite often to mingle, exchange stories and to eat food of course...Naturally, ordering at least half a roast duck from the 'Roast Duck Specialists' (as it says on the menu) was a must, it was the main reason why we went back again after a year's absence. The meat was tender yet full of duck flavour and the skin was crunchy, but the main difference between this and other restaurants was the sauce; it was amazingly rich and full of Chinese herbs and spices.
