I'm a Chinese person NOT born and raised in the UK, but born and raised in Asia where there's REAL chinese food everyday, and I think this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in London. Enough said.

i have been going to this restaurant for about 7 yrs now and have never been dissappointed. The food is excellent! My favourites been the Lobster with ginger and spring onion and the steamed scallops. All the usual dishes such as Prawns in black bean sauce and Beef Chow Mein are also unbeatable. The service is friendly and fast. I highly reccomend this restaurant!!

I have just in London for 8 months now and have been busy sampling chinese restaurants from Chinatown, Baker Street and Baywater. Magic Wok has so far reigned at the top as my favourite chinese restaurant in town. My favourites are the roast duck as well as duck in plum sauce. The food are served hot and come in big portion. In fact, being normally a big eater, I was quite surprised during one of my visits that I have to ask for the left over to be wrapped for take away. The waiters and waitresses are helpful and friendly and are very apologetic. I have always prefer to sit upstair as it's less noisy and provides a nice cosy environment. Highly recommended!

I went in to ask for a menu to take home, for take-aways. They looked at me like I had gone crazy and said they didn't have any. Is this possible? In a Chinese restaurant? Went next door to the Gold Mine with the same request and they promptly handed me a menu to take home.

good restaurant, good food, good service.. I quite like the waiter (probably he's the owner), very friendly and helpful. The food came so quick. We ordered roast duck and it came perfect, quite expensive though..

Highly recommended for those of you who value good cuisine and service...

This is the least child-friendly Chinese restaurant we have been to in London. We had booked a table there for lunch on sunday. We were six adults, three children, and a baby in a pram. The restaurant staff would not let us keep the pram. They asked us to take the baby (who was sound asleep) out of the pram and fold the pram away. This is despite the fact that there was plenty of room for the pram next to our table (and the restaurant was mostly empty anyway). We felt unwelcome and we had to leave: we went next door to the Four Seasons, where they had no problem with the pram.

The food is quite good, but I would not recommend this place to people with children. Other Chinese places on Queensway seem to be much more accomodating (and that may explain why they are busier that Magic Wok)

Magic Wok is probably the best Chinese restaurant in London though the decor is a bit basic but who cares?. Extensive choice of menu and the food is excellent with very efficient service. Lobster noodle, aromatic crispy duck and the roast duck are highly recommended. Fantastic value for money. We dine there all the time and are never disappointed.

A brilliant restaurant. One of the very best in London and exceptionally good value.

My family of five people ate to their hearts' content and the bill was only just over the £40 mark. Astonishing value.

Coming from a terrible meal at Four Seasons to this, Magic Wok. The food was great and even my parents who own a restaurant were satisfied for once. They have a lot of staff so the service is great and they are very helpful in recommending dishes - service isn't too overpriced either. It's so much quieter than Four Seasons but don't let that discourage you - The portions were big and the quality is much better than it's neighbour's. It is a good place if you want to perhaps spend a little longer chatting since it will not feel like the staff are trying to kick you out.
