The food here is really very good. This is the first time i have written a review, ever. And I have been eating out at least 3 - 5 days a week for the past many years. The real clincher was the crispy aromatic duck (which by the way, having lived in china for a while is not easy to get - the very fatty peking duck is omnipotent) - not greasy at all, the meat moist, and home made pancakes. The follow on courses I chose were also standards: egg fried rice, ko prawns, salt and pepper squid etc. and all were head and shoulder above the usual standard. The meal came to £34 inclusing service. Last week I ate 1a Launceston Place (and paid £160) - I'd choose this place every time.

My wife and I have been going here for years with our children and it is an excellent restaurant. The food is good, the service quick and friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. It is far better than you might expect for a local restaurant in Acton/Ealing. Highly recommended.

I love chinese food and have tried it all round the world with much dissapointment along the way... the North china however is fantastic. this was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say the food is excellent quality. The Dim Sum (pork particualrly) is excellent and the set menu offers plenty variety and choice.

Overall the quality of the food is the winner, having recently eaten at Hakkassan I wpuld say the quality of the food here is on par but for a fraction of the cost.

We have been going to this place for a while now and I have to say it's the best Chinese we have ever had. We are particularly fond of the Beef and Black Bean Sauce with special fried rice. Great food, great service and great price!

This is the best thing in the West.

I am not a Chinese food fan and was dragged there-but am very thankful now!

The food is great, not greasy, and not coming back out an hour later leaving me hungry again.

The fried beef and lemon chicken are our favorites, tucked into with the special fried rice that is awesome-don't know what they out in it but it is devine.

The restaurant is well presented, great glossy menus, nice notice board outside and again glossy take away menus also.

What I am trying to say is they don't cut corners on anything, it is shown in the presentation and the food.

Try going through the week to get a seat, and ask any local in Acton the best Chinese and they will tell you the same thing.

That's all, and now I am heading there tonight, as writing about the food has made me drool all over the keyboard!

Wonderful neighbourhood restaurant. The service is good and attentive - the owner Laurence is one of nature's gentlemen.

The food is a lot less greasy than your average Chinese - not quite the bland health-food style of some places in Notting Hill, it manages to avoid being greasy or tasting obviously of MSG.

Usually rammed at weekend dinnertimes, the next-door indian restaurant seems to do a very good trade in people who can't get a table in North China - you always see one or two long-faced families and you can just tell they're missing their duck three-ways.

If you live in Acton and the shame of the Red Back gets you down, just remember that in North China you have one of London's finest Chinese restaurants.

North China is definitely worth a visit. We live in Kingston but feel the place is well worth the travelling!! It's a good idea to preorder the 3 course duck (24 hours notice)and for this you start with the skin in pancakes, then follows the duck fried with vegetables followed by duck soup- fantastic! The smoked chicken and seafood is also worth ordering as is the drunken chicken. Plus the service is pretty good too and the manager Lawrence is both helpful and professional!
