I have been going to the Cock and Dragon for five years as a local resident. Although the food is standard, I loved the cozy atmosphere and it is a good place to meet friends.
Recently, the barman asked me to remove my car because it was large and restricting other cars. He rudely asked me to get into my car and move it to another spot. Once I had parked, he proceeded to insult me by saying that I should not be driving a large car and that I was struggling with it.
It is unlikely that he would have made this comment to a male driver. Also, he refused to acknowledge or realise that the car park is too small to fit in three rows of parking and that it is a tight fit for any car larger than a mini.
Me driving cautiously was to avoid knocking into other cars and not because I am incapable of driving a car after 20 years. Due to such rudeness, I am now taking my service and my friends elsewhere.

The food here is usually pretty good. It's standard pub Thai, but the quality is usually consistent so you can order a dish and generally know what it will taste like. However, we were disappointed with our visit yesterday. The pub was much quieter than normal and the main courses we were served seemed very tired, as if they were reheated from the night before. We enjoyed the ribs and dim sum, but our stir-fries were very bland, not quite hot enough and quite possibly microwaved.
When one of the bar staff came to remove our plates, which were barely touched, we mentioned that one dish in particular wasn't up to standard. He replied, 'I usually have that one but I didn't today' - I'm sorry, what? I don't care what you eat, I'm telling you that mine was rubbish. There was some mumbling about 'telling the kitchen' but no apology or offer of compensation for 2 dishes we could not eat.

This is one of my favourite restaurants, and I and my partner eat here fairly regularly. The menu has a great choice, and the food, in my experience, has always been extremely tasty. Good value for money, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant lend the Cock and Dragon to be a good venue for a romantic dinner for two or a lively dinner for a group of friends.

My husband and I went to the Cock & Dragon last night for the first time in a while - it always used to be one of our favourite restaurants but has really gone downhill in our opinion.
The food was very bland and greasy, and although we ordered dishes from the menu with the highest chilli ratings none of them were spicy at all - very disappointing, more like a below average chinese takeaway rather than what I'd expect in a Thai restaurant.
The service wasn't much better - when we were seated the waitress asked what we'd like to drink so I asked for a glass of wine and before my husband could look up from his menu to order his drink the waitress had gone! And when our food was delivered they forgot one of the dishes which when it eventually arrived was luke warm but hot in the middle suggesting it had been microwaved.
All in all a very disappointing experience.
