Had a fantastic meal here last night. Buzzing atmosphere and lovely staff who went out of their way to ensure our children felt welcomed. This was our first visit and I will most definitely be going back!

Went with friends and the food was neither present well or tasty. Just piled on the plate! Waiters didn't seem to care. Won't be going back! Not what you'd expect from a Greek restaurant.

This restaurant will go down as one of the worst eating experiences ever!

The vegetarian selection was poor though while my meat eating colleagues were able to have a wider selection their dishes looked like the food had seen a few days - reheated and very greasy. The vegetarian moussaka was like eating a sponge. The salad was limp and the kalamata olives were awful. I normally love kalamata olives but I think I have been put off them for life.

The waiter asked how the food was - when we gave some honest feedback in a very polite manner he did not respond in a very customer friendly way, I was asked after a while whether I would like something else - I asked for a dessert - again the quality was poor. I ordered a double expresso - this was just like filter coffee put in a small cup.

No attempt was made to understand our dissatisfaction and no concessions were offered. The bill was really high- no breakdown was made of the individual items orderd. The staff avoided eye contact with us when were leaving the restuarant and did not see us to the door.

We do not intend going there again -neither will any of my friends.

The Blue Olive is one of if not the best Greek restaurant I have been to in the UK, We have one nearer to us which is about 15 miles round trip that we can use but my wife and I choose to drive 110 miles round trip to get to the best restaurant going. We have never had a bad meal, I once had a brandy which didnt to me taste nice and it was changed for another in a flash.

I dare say that there will be times when something goes wrong with the service i.e loads of people pop in so staff have to tend to all so orders may be a little slow, but we have never had a bad time there.

Well blue olive has an authentic greek cypriot cuisine, i ve been there many times and im always satisfied! I love the kleftiko, stifado, mousaka, etc..its all good! I go there with my friends and we always enjoy it.. its obvious though that if someone goes on saturday that u wont expect the same service as on other days..

Its good that there is a greek restaurant like this in cockfosters:-)

I had some friends visiting from abroad and thought it would be nice to take them to the Blue Olive as they had not eaten Greek food before and I had previously eaten there and enjoyed the food and experience.

However I have to say that I was left disappointed for a number of reasons.

Firstly we had to wait a very long time for our food to arrive, when it did arrive it was cold. I had the chicken kebab which was dry. One of my friends is allergic to raw olive oil so we requested no oil on her salad. When it came it was covered in oil so we requested a salad without oil. The waiter had to 'check' it was alright to change the salad, I couldn't understand the problem, it's not like they had made the salad especially for us. After some fuss and attitude he changed it.

I have to say the standards of both food and service have really gone down and I won't be returning.

I wouldn't normally write a review for a restaurant but when I read some of the negative comments I felt I had to redress the balance. Some of those comments are frankly ludicrous - I wasn't even sure they were about the same restaurant!

I travel a lot and have eaten in some very good restaurants all over the world. The Blue Olive is definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, I have eaten there more times than I can remember and I have never had a bad meal, the food is always cooked fresh and the service and staff are second to none.

I have eaten alone, with family, friends and with business colleagues and each and every time they treated me to a great range of food and all at very reasonable prices.

I have moved out of the area now and probably the only thing I will miss is the Blue Olive and I will certainly return to the restaurant when I get the chance to be in London again.

I went to the blue olive on a week night very recently with my boyfriend very recently. We arrived at 8.30 which in my opinion is not too late. However it seems the staff thought otherwise. Within minutes the waitress was insisting she took our drinks order.

We ordered the meat meze for 2 and was extremely disappointed. The meat was very very dry. We barely touched the meat/ chicken. The food is brought out so quick that it's obviously not fresh at all.

When the waitress came over to clean the table she asked why we hadn't eaten much. In fact she assumed we were so full we couldn't eat anymore. Far from it.! When I told her the meat was dry and hard she didn't seem too bothered at all. She recommended we ask for the meat be under cooked next time... What a joke. I couldn't be bothered to continue the conversation so let it go. Within minutes of clearing our table we had 3 different people coming over to ask if we wanted dessert or anything else. They were just desperate to get us in and out as soon as we walked in. Overall very dissapointed as my boyfriend and I really love Greek food and it's a local little spot for us. We will not be going there again!!
