This is a great place for a quiet dinner or a family outing. It really does cater for all.
Service is attentive and the food is always of a high standard. Personally, I do find the atmosphere a bit tired. It has definitely had at least one refit since the 90s, but I think I preferred the old look. That's just a matter of taste though.
And when the bill arrives, you'll be happy.
It's about half-way between Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road tube stations and I'd advise you to reach it by tube, as parking can be a pain unless you're lucky or don't mind a short walk.
I'll go again. It's on my shortlist.

My heart leaps every time I walk into Green Cottage just at the smell. I have never had a less than wonderful meal - or even a less than wonderful dish- here, it is consistently excellent food.
Personal favourites include the salt and chilli squid, chicken in chilli sauce, won ton soup and the crispy belly pork, and even their egg fried rice is fresh, interesting and perfect every time.
Prices are reasonable, there's a good variety of drinks - soft and alcoholic- service is friendly, food is delicious and always very fresh, and every time i've been there have been lots of chinese people in there - always a good sign, I feel.
If I had one complaint it would be that the restaurant doesn't look like it's changed a bit since it opened, but that really is a tiny price to pay for such wonderful food.
Do it.
