we ordered takeaway, when we got back to the office discovered that they'd not included the most expensive dish, despite the fact we had paid for it, they point blank refused to refund the money telling us that we were liars, it's outrageous... avoid

First time I've ever written a restaurant review... but I felt it necessary after seeing some of the reviews and scores on here. I went to Cafe Naz last night (26-Feb-11) with my gf and her friend mainly because they're now part of Tastecard.

The food was great... much better than I usually find on Brick Lane (I've tried 4/5 well known others), but what really stood out was the service... and the reason for this review, as we'd gone there expecting good food but poor service (after reading some reviews). I didn't get the guys name, but our table waiter went out of his way to make sure everything was good and we had complimentary appetisers, mini deserts and were offered coffees.

The one slight draw back was the guy at the bar was a bit abrupt, but I think that's because it was a bit later by then and they were getting busy.

Really really good night, will definately be back.

After seeing an advert for an Indian meal with entertainment in the form of an 'Elvis' tribute --- I felt compelled to book up and go along as it seemed a change from just having a meal. We went along fairly sceptical given many of the reviews we had seen. All I can say is what an absolute delight!!!!! We were shown to our table which happened to be in a prime spot for viewing the show not to mention a little romantic. The staff were exceptionally efficient and friendly. Then the poppadoms turned up and they were glorious definately the best I have ever it had.....dry light and not one bit of fat on them - After an equally delightful starter Lamb chandni (I think that is how its spelt) the meat was very tender and not too spicy (I have a bit of a delicate constitution) I thought I would take a chance and have a prawn masala.......Absolutely fab!!!!!!! The entertainment was fantastic and the general ambience of the place was warm, friendly and full of fun loving people. Would I recommend it???? definately.... would I go there again........ Cannot wait!

i went to restaurant yesterday 25th August 2010 for the 6th time. i had guests with me and i recommended Cafe naz.

i was very disappointed in the service that was provided. The waiters were loud, didnt understand most of the things, orders were taken incorrectly. One of the waiters insisted for cash tips. i was appalled by this and did not expect this from Cafe Naz. we ordered drinks and it did not come until we reminded again. the image of the restaurnat in my mind (from my previous visits) have been very high. i am not sure of the reasons for this downturn but i insist that the management should look into this. i am surely not returning again.

Food was ok, nothing special.

Service was pushy and they tried to make us spend more on wine and drinks. The waiters were slightly surly and although I had a good time with my friends, my overall impression of the restaurant was poor, and I would not go there again nor recommend it to my friends.

I went to this restaurant with a large group for a quiet week day celebration. The restaurant had plenty of staff and was not busy. Both the staff and our party were polite to one another throughout. However, the service was so appalling that it ruined the possibility of enjoying or even receiving a meal. The staff seemed intent on serving as much alcohol as possible while failing to deliver our first courses despite our repeated requests. After waiting for nearly an hour after our order was taken for the starters, and asking waiters four times to serve our food, we complained to the management. After an hour the starters finally arrived. They were all, without exception, at fridge temperature. At this point we decided to leave and find a restaurant interested in serving food to its customers.None of us had ever walked out of a restaurant before. We all love Indian food and restaurants. This was simply the most horrible experience most of us have had in any restaurant. We will continue to enjoy the excellent cuisine in this part of London but I don't think any of us will ever visit the Naz again.
