Le Cadre

Le Cadre is an excellent restaurant with a great owner who, on a quiet evening will happily join you at the table and hold a terriffic conversation on cullinary views. David knows how to get new ideas from his clientelle and enjoys sharing others ideas with you to create an improved ambience...what the clientelle want.
The food is very high quality, especially the home cooked bread. It is truly refreshing to find this sort of quality in a resturant so far out from the centre of London. However, the only downfall is that the prices reflect the West End, therefore not a regular haunt for one of London's bus drivers.
Highly recommended if you have the cash....

Food was as good as ever and the service friendly and efficient but the final bill seemed a bit high to me for what it was.

Yummy...we love Le Cadre, we love the 1987'esq decor, we love the service, we love the food, there aren't many good little local restaurants like Le Cadre left...it truly is a gem!

My boyfriend and I eat out in central London fairly frequently, but still like to try to eat locally occasionally; we decided to visit this particular restaurant after reading the reviews here.
Don’t go to Le Cadre expecting a bistro experience because you won’t get one. The food was OK, we didn’t send any of it back, nor did we walk out; it just wasn’t a great dinning experience.
Both the décor and the food are rather dated (about 1987). You get the feeling that with some tweaking Le cadre could be more of a success.

A hidden gem! I was amazed to find a resteraunt of such quality hidden away in North London. The owner works there most nights and can't do enough to make the experience delightful and truely restorative. You could be dinning oppisite L'Isle st Louis with Notre Damne a stone throw away but your not your in Wood Green. The warm smoked haddock salad is a must and the chicken with potato puree and calvados sauce is heaven. Don't all go at once because it's my secret.

The host could not have been more genial and welcoming, but it was a worry, that in this (and I presume his) French restaurant , he claimed he not to have visited France for many years.
The starters: warm chicken liver salad and gravadlax marinaded in beetroot and vodka - were both delicious.
The menu is vast - too large to maintain a freshly cooked choice of food. My partner ordered pork loin, which was very tasty.
My food - lamb with haricots blanc - arrived dry on top (having been kept warm in the oven presumably) and tasted like school dinners stew.
Over all, a disapointing experience.

We went to Le Carde for my wifes birthday. We had a really nice time, nice atmosphere with good food. It's what you would expect for the price.
