Love, love, love Wahaca! Am a big fan of Thomasins and think she has got a huge winner on her hands with this restaurant. Food is delicious and fresh and the low prices are a nice change from the usually high priced Mexican food in the UK. Anytime I'm asked for a suggestion for lunch or dinner, it's always Wahaca!

I am a big fan of Mexican food and this place is right up there with the best of places to go! Stellar service and a brilliantly vibrant atmosphere really add to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The food is fresh, fast and fantastic.

Anyone who enjoys Mexican food must check this place out and if you've never tried Mexican before, you don't know what your missing!

After having read some of the previous reviews wasn't sure however decided to chance it. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful in guiding us through the menu. I found the portions to be ample, we had just the mains rather than the small plates. The side dish of spicy sweet potatos was fab. I can't wait to go back.

Went to Covent Garden from Bedford especially to go to Wahaca and was not disappointed. Seated very quickly and efficiently even though it was Saturday lunchtime and it was very busy.

All the food was very fresh and delicious. It is the standard by which we will measure other Mexican restaurants. Just a shame Wahaca has not spread to the provinces yet !

All the staff including the guy organising the seating and our main waitress, Lydia, were polite, cheerful and chatty.

Will definitely go back next time we are in London.

I used to go there but th last 2 times i felt dissapointed, food was cold with a very poor quality, drinks tasted like just water, ( i asked for horchata), i paid for melted cheese and the cheese they gave me came very hard it didn´t even look like cheese , very bad , very dissapointed, and i think portions are even smaller.

Family of 4 with an unwilling 13 year old (who wanted a burger) - even he was happy at the end of the night. Food was great, everything tasty, no queue. Service bit slow but staff helpful and bill £70!! In London!! For 4 people!! Ok, no alchohol but soft drinks can sometimes be just as expensive. Will definitely be back - but can you open in Glasgow soon please??

My wife and I are Thomasina fans and following Masterchef, it is great to see the success continue and the vision in place!

We had a wonderful dinner last Saturday evening - very busy when we arrived as expected and settled down with Margeritas for the hour wait but were seated within 35 minutes!

All of the food was freshly prepared and delicious, went for the Wahaca selection from the Streetfood menu and added a couple of extra dishes - difficult to name a favourite as all of the food was wonderful.

Many thanks to Lydia for efficiently waiting our table with a smile and a bit of fun, you are truly and asset to the Wahaca team, thank you.

We will be back!

I have been many times to Wahaca in Covent Garden, most recently in October and November this year. The menu is, as usual, excellent for choice (my daughter being vegetarian had a wide range to choose from); the chicken mole is superb with a wonderful subtle flavours. The service is of a high standard and the atmosphere could not be better.

Food was average... but the service was shockingly appalling! We could not believe when we asked which dish was given, the waiter turned round and yelled at us before walking off... then when it was time for the bill, it was thrown at us like we were meant to be catching a frisby! This only applies to the Covent Garden store as the other restaurant in Westfield has lovely service.. don't go to this one unless you want to be treated like the rubbish (i.e. can't wait to be thrown out).

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 7/10

Wednesday, November 03, 2010 - Pork pibil was my favourite of the street food dishes. Moist, spicy pork topped with pickled red onions, they dribbled rich marinade onto the plate as you bit into them, yet kept their shape well enough to remain finger food...Two chicken taquitos contained moist chicken and good crispy deep-fried tortilla, a surprisingly decent tomato salsa, and a topping of Lancashire cheese; and chorizo and potato quesadilla was decent enough.

Gourmet Chick - 5/10

Monday, February 15, 2010 - Of the tacos, pork pibil tacos were earthy and moist while vegetable tacos were a little gluey. Huitlacoche quesadillas sounded more exotic than what they were, toasted flour tortillas stuffed with corn and mushrooms, a better bet were the potato and chorizo quesadillas but then everything is better with chorizo right? Guacamole served with tortilla chips was tasteless and gloopy...Wahaca is Mexican for the masses. I've had much better Mexican at Crazy Homie's and Taqueria. That said, it's a fun place to eat, service is speedy and the churros are sensational.

Thursday, October 02, 2008 - A fresh, clattery, warm cantina, in a remarkably light and airy basement. Skilled, good-looking staff scuttling about. Attractive menus doubling as tablemats, with sections split between tapas-esque mini-plates and substantial platos fuertes….We order guacamole and tortilla chips with extra guacamole, double tacos of char-grilled steak and nopalitos, a chipotle chicken quesadilla, a burrito of slow-cooked outdoor-reared pork, and a large chicken enchilada. 'You must be hungry,' remarks Thiago the waiter. As they say north of the Tex-Mex frontier, you bet your ass we are.
