Forest Tandoori

I always use this restaurant for takeaway and the food is always perfect. Arrives really hot and fresh with large portions. A tad expensive but I dont mind paying for quality. Highly recommended!

Cannot comment on the quality of the food because, as the previous reviewer experienced too, they simply tried to overcharge me. We called and made our order, then checked the final price against the individual prices on the menu to be found on the website and it turned out they charged us about 6 pounds more than they should have! After calling them back they claimed that our menu was old and that there was a new 'upgraded' one, not online however. We therefore said no thanks and ordered somewhere else. 27/4/2010

This restaurant definitely has its ups and downs, but sadly it has been mainly down recently. The food and service has definitely gone downhill and it has gone from being one of the best Indians in E17 to just average. They are also terrible with delivery, constantly forgetting part of the order and trying to overcharge.

I live very near this restaurant and have been going since I moved to E17 a few years ago. The food is always lovely, the service excellent and the atmosphere is great. The pricing is also good. I would have no hesitation suggesting this as a great Indian.... definitely worth visiting.

Have been quite a few times now. Food is great, staff are good and the decor is nice and homely.

The king prawn butterfly was great and also the mixed grill is fantastic with chicken tikka, chops, lamb sheek etc...

I loved the lamb shank....soft lamb that gently comes off the bone cooked in lovely curry sauce with pilau rice....cant go wrong!

We went as a large group and overall everyone came back impressed!

Definitely recommended!! I will go again!

We saw a few online reviews of Forest Tandoori and thought we'd try it as our usual haunt has been going steadily down hill. We thought we'd go for a delivery and settle down with some nice food and a film for the evening.

An hour and a half later(!) our food arrived and we were extremely disappointed...

Chicken Tikka: Dry, hard, greasy and tasteless. Duck (supposedly a speciality of theirs!): Even dryer, harder and more tasteless. Taka dahl: About as tasty as water with bits of lentils floating around in it. Lamb Biryani: I would expect this to normally have largish chunks of succulent lamb and tasty rice. Instead, it was tiny slivers of hard, dry lamb and tasteless greasy rice.

Peshawri nan: This was quite nice and fresh. Cucumber raitha: again, very nice and fresh

All in all, we were very disappointed. Maybe it was a bad night? Still, we wont be going back there in a hurry...
