Nuovo

We had a great meal at Nuovo yesterday. The restaurant is beautifully decorated - feels like a glitzy west end joint. It had a very individual bespoke feel and very reasonable prices for the quality of food and service that we received. It was really buzzy and had a great atmosphere without feeling overcrowded.

I had the Prawns to start - they were delicious with a really tangy sauce (apparently the chef's secret recipe). My wife had the Parma Ham and melon from the specials board. For main course I had the Calzone Nuovo- very healthy sized portion and cooked to perfection, and my wife went for the 'Pollo Milanese' breaded chicken with a spaghetti and tomato sauce - again very good.

We shared the Chef's Italian trifle for desert (I would definitely recommend this !). We also had a bottle of the house red wine which was good. All in all a great meal and good value at just over 20 per head. We left a generous tip to reflect the service received, but were encouraged by the fact that the service charge was not automatically included.

We look forward to returning again very soon !

Been to this restaurant a number of times in the last year & half. Great extensive choice of starters, pizzas, pastas, main meals! All in all every dish I've tried here I've thoroughly enjoyed.

Decor is very clean & modern. Staff are friendly. Prices are average. Great place for a couple or a group of friends.

But anyway I have been to this restaurant three times now and each time have been tempted by the specials, probably down to the fact that the first time I had the special, it was lamb shank and one of the best meals I have ever had! Each time i haven't been disappointed with the food and the price is reasonable too and its good to have a trendy restaurant atmosphere which serves a wide variety of food from steak with pate, excellent sea bass, through to pizzas and pasta.

The decor is trendy, comfortable and the lighting is low making it perfect for romatnic meals but as its trendy its a great choice for a birthday or other celebration meals too. There is a bar upstairs if you arrive a bit early as well.

The only criticism I would have is that they did not have a great choice of beer..........but I was drinking wine so it didn't matter too much ;-) But having said that the waiter tried to persudade us to have a bottle of merlot when we only really wanted the house wine so the service on the 3rd time could be described as a bit pushy. Even so each visit was memorable and I would definitely go back.
