Palms of Goa

Had a great meal at one of the other 'Palms of Goa '(Charlotte St?) and was keen to visit again.
Unfortunately, the meal at their Soho branch just didn't do it. The wife's starter was replaced half way by an apologetic waiter. We hadn't said anything - the waiter himself saw that the onion bhajis were raw and cold on the inside. Got some freshly cooked replacements, that were a bit better
I went for the Goan classic, Xicutti. Wasn't expecting trad. Goan goat, but was expecting tender lamb, not tough mutton and gristle. Perservered with it for a while, until again the embarrasssed waiter took it away. I declined a replacement dish.
The service was good - it was busy, but still the waiter was attentive, and quickly spotted the food was below par. He even found time for a little chat about how the food in Goa is.. "of course, beter than this stuff"
Shame

I went here last night and must say the food was absolutely delicious. It was by far the best Indian I have had in a long time, and the service was fantastic. I can definitely recommend the Palms set meals - both the non-vegetarian which I ate, and the fish which my boyfriend ate. Next time I find myself hungry in Soho I will definitely be returning here.
