Friday, December 05, 2008 - The day’s special of pork belly with red cabbage comes as one piece on a big red bed. I’d have liked to have seen it divided up a bit to show off the layers of pork but it’s been slow-cooked well so that the fat has reduced and resolved into flavour, while the meat tears away easily in fibrous forkfuls.

Not so good. It felt a bit like dining on a cross-channel ferry. I think they, at the very least, should offer slightly higher quality menus. I don't mean the food, which was okay, I mean the actual menus which looked like they'd been printed out in the office onto the sort of paper one would use in a home printer.

Absolutely a great dining experience! A friend of ours with celiac disease came for a visit and we were hard-pressed to find a place that understood what that was, let alone cater to it :)

With 108 we were in luck! They were well versed in gluten-free food prep and knew right away that 60% of their menu was gluten free and could even advise as to the best options for him (including some delicious local gluten-free sausages!).

Great servings, great price (50% with the Taste London card) and GREAT service.

we tried to go here but failed... Despite making a reservation on 20 January for tonight (12 Feb) and having the usual e-mail confirmation a day before. I received a voice message telling me that the restaurant is having a Valentines weekend. They are only doing a 4-course £65-a-head menu. And did I still want to go along?

Err, no actually I didn't - despite booking a table for two it wasn't a Valentines booking. Why do restaurants see Valentines (and other dates) as a chance to rip-off their customers.

I'm afraid we won't be going to this restaurant any time soon, even if it is the best restaurant in London. First impressions count.

If you go, I hope you have a better experience

Came here on an early evening. staff were very friendly and attentive and the food we had was very tasty if a bit overpriced (we've had better food for cheaper) but would reccommend people to go here if they're in the area.

I went with a colleague for lunch using the 50% off food deal.

I liked the decor and felt instantly that I was in for a treat. The feeling of style yet comfort was just right.

The waiter - whose sencond lanuage was English - was attentive and polite without being overbearing.

I ordered the roast duck breast, which was cooked to perfection & so expertly cooked, that the first bite melted on my tongue! My colleague had the sea bream and thought it was delicious also. My side order of mange tout & french beans was well seasoned and also cooked to perfection. I just wish I'd had time to order the dessert special - baked vanilla cheese cake.

I would not have eaten there without the voucher as I try not to overspend on eating out, but I truly enjoyed my meal & will most certainly be going back for dinner.
