Difficult one. We had a mix of dishes and the lunch bento box on the recommendations of the waiter. Have to say it was not what we expected and we should have steered clear of the advice. Very neatly packaged parcels of sushi and other items, but just lacked some bite- lacked some taste, that lovely subtle feeling you get with japanese food. The black cod was indeed good, and i would suggest any diner forgoes the bento and goes for this, one of the signature dishes. But it was too late and we were lumbered with the bento.

Overall i was quite disappointed to be honest. I have had better japanese food in London and i was left thinking what was all the fuss about. No doubt a nice japanese lunch, but little doubt either, that it was pretty ordinary.

I have been here twice now and both times it has been fabulous. The food, drink and service are 10/10.

It's a gorgeous restaurant and I highly recommend the 'Kyoho Queen' cocktail.

What is all the fuss about Nobu Berkeley? I thought the food was just tasteless, I really didn't enjoy what I had ordered, not even the dessert! The atmosphere is kind of cool (maybe because you already expect it to be - only super beautiful girls in expensive dresses sitting around you) but actually if you are sitting near the windows it just looks very normal and rather cheap. Anyway, I really don't think it's worth it to go there again.

Were do I start I booked Nobu at least 3 weeks before going on the 20th November in person but when we got there they told me I didn't have a booking they made me feel like a liar. One of the girls behind the desk remembered me.

They told me that they would look after us at the bar - ha! They gave us a table for 45mins then another table for another 45mins during which time we had drank a bottle of wine we'd asked for something to nibble but told we could order starters and eat it at the small table in the bar area we told them we'd rather wait til the table was ready .

When we got to the table we ordered and ate our food which was very good but when we got the bill they had over charged us and the only way they looked after us was by taking off the service charge!

We were very disappointed

Party of 12 went for my 21st Birthday. Despite not being able to reserve an area in the bar, an area was put aside for us upon arrival. Service was fantastic from the bar waiters through to service in the restaurant. The food was beautifully presented, extremely tasty and of a very high standard. Everyone had a lovely evening and even after we were told that we weren't allowed to take pictures the manager said as it was a special occasion he would allow it. Cocktails and wine selection were great too.

A wonderfully stylish and sophisticated restaurant.

Went to Nobu Berkeley for dinner last night. What a dissapointment it was. I have been to fancy Japanese restaurants around the world and often go in London too but this was the biggest dissapointment so far.

My friend who I came with works in another high-class Japanese restaurant in London and rated the interior of Nobu Berkeley one of a cheap canteen. Anyway, we sat on sushi bar and ordered our sushi directly from chef. The taste was good but the presentation was appalling. I myself could have made better looking sushi. Japanese food is not only about taste but about presentation too and what we got was hugely dissapointing, particularly if you compare to places like Zuma.

We also had the toban yaki chicken and rib eye steak with anticucho sauce. The presentation, again, was poor, the chicken in particular was not worth GBP16.00 - small piece of chicken breast with one mushroom and one asparagus. Terribly dissapointing. The steak tasted good but came with almost no sauce on it (or with it) and we had to ask for extra sauce.

Service was worse than comparable restaurants. Waited 5-10 minutes for a bowl of steamed rice. They took our chicken away before we had the chance to finish it. Never changed the plates for dishes. Gave us bill while dirty dishes still on table.

Overall: I would not recommend and I will not be back in any Nobu, anywhere.

First of all the receptionist was awfully unelegant. She tried to make a joke but it came across as unskilful. There were 2 ladys - 1 who was way out of her league and came across as lets say totally out of place and lacking any etiquette that a host should have.

Anyway we were led to our table were another annoying thing happened ...a waiter that crouches by the side of you to chat to you about your order being too familiar. He was going on and on ......thank you but I can order myself I been coming to nobu for a long time now.

After this one can not help but notice the noise...this place is so loud I could not speak to my friends that much ....I gave up, dont come here if you actually want a conversation.

The food was really not very exiting. The flavours were out and it did not seem very fresh (the yellowtail sashimi).

Food came in a strange sequence basically what ever was ready was served so that spoilt it incredibly as it now seemed like a McDonalds.

I was in Nobu Berkeley over 6 months ago and have to say all the standard was much higher. I think it was a Japanese head chef in charge then. I asked about him and I was told he went to south africa and now another head chef has taken his role. I can really see the difference!

The toilets are the best place, quiet clean and refreshing.

I would surgest to the management to recruit front of house staff that are less casual, a bit more professional with a bit more menu knowledge as to how to sequence the food correctly. The front of house team come across as to much of a party party people.I know Nobu Berkeley is the funky Nobu/Bar however there is a limit Get a more elegant hosting team and waiters and definitely check out the kitchen head chef as the standard is slipping fast.

Stunning food, but it will be hard to go back given the surliness of the bouncers, particularly the one who was working last night in the early evening. If I'm coming to a restaurant to drop about £200/head, I don't expect to be treated like a tramp by a menacing bouncer who seems to think we should be grateful he can even be bothered to check for our reservation.
