with 3 friends went for a celebration at nobu berkeley on a thursday evening. a great choice for a lively buzzing place to eat, . the food was fantastic with the menu being varied enough to cater for all are fussy desires. the service at the table was attentive without being intrusive which we thought was good,, until our evening came to an end we were hassled from the table to the exit door to use their own car service for our journey back to waterloo station but at £25 we decided on a taxi from the ample supply outside on the taxi rank ,, £ 15

We have just been for the evening at this restaurant today for a family birthday. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great price. Will definitely be coming back very soon!

Choice of transport offered by restaurant at £25 to Victoria. Safer to use Black Cabs always outside at £9 for five people.

Popped into Nobu for an impromptu lunch. Food was good as usual but the service was poor. The waiter cleaned my table with his damp cleaning cloth, but also wiped the top of my chopsticks and just walked off, I had to call him back to replace them - very unhygienic and really just sloppy. He was slow to take our drinks order, the food was very slow to come out of the kitchens, and generally it felt like we had the B-team serving tables. Not what you expect for a £150 quick lunch. I wont be returning.

My wife took me to Nobu for a birthday surprise as I love Japanese food. The restaurant's table arrangement was more what you'd expect at wagamama as we were crammed in so tightly that we could quite easily hear the conversations from the tables either side of us. Foodwise; the black cod was exquisite but the sushi/sashimi was not any better (and maybe even not as good) as some other Japanese restaurants we have visited at the fraction of the price. We were lucky enough to finish before being asked to leave ("can I get you the bill as we need the table") as we overheard the waiter ask the tables next to us. The service however was good. The bill was extortionate. Would I return? NoBu

I frequently go to Nobu in Miami so while I was over in London I thought i'd check out Nobu near Berkeley Square. Was disappointed with the service and was very surprised by the downmarket approach the restaurant takes when I requested a cab to take me back to my hotel. The restaurant were very insistant that they would arrange a car for me (at considerable cost I might add) despite the fact that there was a taxi rank right outside the restaurant. The black taxi cost less than half the price quoted by the restaurant!!!!

On arrival the Cocktails were nice, especially liked the lime and Lychee Martini. The bar had a good atmosphere and was full of beautful people, music was funky. However I was very dissapointed with Nobu. We had a table booked for 9.45, didn't get seated until 10.20 and received our first dish at 10.45. Waiting staff looked beautiful (love the outfits) but the service was poor and we had to keep asking what they were serving. We had the taster menu. The first course was a carpachio of fish, it was fantastic, the next 2 courses were very average and then the Wagyu beef was served, sublime is the only word to describe it. Out of 6 courses 2 were fantastic and 4 very average, that's not good enough. My advise is spend the same and go to Benares where every course is fantastic and the service amazing

Went to Nobu Berkeley last week. Food and service were superb. Our night was ruined, however by their in house mini cab service. £20 to go to Victoria station, by a very aggressive and intimidating man. I work in Berkeley Square and this never costs more than £7 in a black cab. Nobu needs to decide if it wants to be known as an upmarket London restaurant, or a downmarket mini cab firm.

We had the most wonderful food at Nobu on Sunday night. The place was packed...but we were given a great table near the windows. We enjoyed several dishes from the a la carte menu including a lobster tempura salad which was stunning! The sushi and sashmi(several pieces)was of an outstanding quality and the best I've had in London. The main tempura selection had abit too much batter but the selection that one can choose from is very good...and at 1.50 for two big pieces ,it's not that expensive. We had the wagu beef...which was ok..not outstanding...

The service was fine...perhaps just more info when the dishes are brought to you would have helped...we found ourselves having to ask again what the dish was.The room is very noisy...but I expected this.Expensive? It's not too bad actually...it's viewed as being very expensive but one can still enjoy most of the dishes and a bottle of wine for about 75.00 per head.

Having read about Nobu in gossip columns and seen rather silly B-list celebrities spilling out of it I had expected it to be glamorous yet pretentious and over-priced, serving ordinary food. Studying the menu confirmed this suspicion as it seemed to be ordinary sushi at exorbitant prices. I ordered a deluxe sushi bento box and sat back, waiting to be unimpressed on its arrival. I was, however, completely wrong, for although it was seemingly ordinary sushi it was so fresh that the fish could have been alive up until five minutes before service. The different dishes in to box were also delicious, including deliciously tender rock shrimp, vegetable tempura served at a perfect temperature in the lightest and crispest of batter, and kobe beef! The box is worth it for the kobe beef alone, which happens to be the most unbelivably delicious, tender, melt-in-the-mouth beef ever. I had always thought it rather silly to bother massaging cows until I had tried it!

The service was pleasant enough, the waiters stylish in simple unfussy black uniforms and the bill, as predicted, very very high. However, although I cannot quite decide whether this was justified by the high quality of the food (I do think Nobu cashes in on its celebrity, understandably enough), at least unlike some other celebrity-haunts the food is worth writing home about!
