Whoever thinks the Piano Lounge in Epping is good must be delusional!!

The scallops were supposed to be wrapped in pancetta but arrived wrapped in bacon.....and the waitor insulted our intelligence by insisting it was pancetta because of the fat!!

As a main course 2 of us ordered the veal steak which the waitress assured us was very tender......the veal steaks had to be sent back and they returned looking like charcoal....great cooking technique!!

The waiter asked me to choose another dish and foolishly thinking that I could not go wrong with a steak I order a fillet steak cooked medium.

On arrival, the size of the steak was very impressive, however I struggled to cut through it. I then discovered that the fillet (size of a jacket potato) had already been disected during cooking (very bizzare) and the same technique as the veal steak applied....

To add insult to injury I was asked if I would like dessert........I had to remind the staff that a dessert usually follows a meal which I had not had.

Beware the bill - it is not itemised and you have to reconcile with the attached order slips........yes we were overcharged.

Keep well away from this place - I wish I had gone to Macdonalds!!

Dont know when these went to the piano lounge but its all different now

we went there as a party of four & all of us were bitterly disappointed there was only 3 other parties in the restaurant & still the service was very slow waiting 10 minutes for our drinks. After ordering our food we had a fair wait for it to arrive

the starters were Ok but a bit expensive for what you received 7 pieces of calamari for £7.00

when the main course arrived we could not believe it. penne pasta with pancetta that was as hot as a vindaloo curry & costing £12. salmon that was meant to wrapped in pancetta but was wrapped in bacon

veal medallions that came up flattened to about 3mm thick tasteless & over cooked

we waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to come to our table before we could complain. she then sent over the waiter who patronisingly said " you're right the veal was not good " when i pointed out these were schnitzels he said there was a mistake on the menu. At £20 i think this was a total joke

please dont get me wrong i dont mind what food cost as long as its good & as descibed on the menu this was far from that & i feel this place is a total ripoff serving sub standard food at west end prices

i just felt that someone was trying to have my trousers dowm

Took my wife to the piano lounge in Epping, enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The pianist and the singer were very good.
