I had wonderful experience at Sheba Restaurant , Brick Lane ; the range of specials I was given truly made my day . I Just didn’t know which special to have. But before the specials I started with a divine appetiser, King butterfly prawn it was called; a nice big prawn sprinkled with bread crumbs . This was followed by a magnificent Biriyani and I am big o f biriyani. So I ordered my favourite one Chicken Tikka Biriyani which truly enlightened my day . Had an excellent Time , it was busy so just had to wait a bit longer but it was worth the wait.

Booked a table at Sheba last night after reading a very good review on Viewlondon. There were 13 of us and we were given a long table in the basement. All was fine until I asked for a glass of tap water. Everyone else promptly received their beers, but had to ask a second time for the water.

The menu is indeed extensive, but beyond the basic dishes is very expensive, especially for the area. We ordered our food and waited an extremely long time for it to be delivered, even though it was already nearly 11pm. When it arrived several portions of rice were missing. We asked 3 or 4 times for these, which request met with some incomprehension, even though the waiters could clearly see several of us sitting there waiting for something. Finally they did arrive, but was far too annoyed to enjoy the meal, which was adequate but unspectacular.

A good place to come if you like loud Indian pop music, expensive menus and Manuel-like levels of service. Otherwise there should be better options on Brick Lane.

By far my favourite curry place on Brick Lane. Great service, great food and best of all the onion bhajis aren't flat, they are the ones that look like puff balls!! Have been to about 10 different curry places on Brick Lane over the years but this one really is the best.

One of the top restaurants in London for real curries. The food is delicious and the service is great. Extensive menu so you could be spoilt for choice and it might take ages to go over the menu, but the attentive staff will help you choose the specials. Its a small restaurant so it gets packed during busy periods, so best to go during quieter days.

Sheba is a very busy restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere. Generally the service was good, the waiter recommended our dishes. We were really happy once the meal arrived. The Lamb Shank was really tender with medium spiced sauce, and Tandoori mix grill were perfectly grilled and came out sizzling, the mild moducash chicken cooked with honey and cashew nuts was perfect alternative for the Korma, and the Grilled Tomato and Eggplant curry was delicious. Rice was nice, fluffy and piping hot, naans were lovely and buttered.

What a lovely place! Our first time in Brick Lane, and it was hard to choose which restaurant to go to. The men outside almost every restaurant trying to call us in was a little intimidating at first, but we ended up going back to Sheba because there was something a bit special about the place.

We were right to do so, The food was fantastic, we had some beautiful lamb tikka, it was so tender!

The service could have been a little warmer, but it wasn't Bad. The best thing was the bill. We hadn't been charged for our drinks (2 each) And were given a further 30% discount. £40 for a family of four. And we ate a lot!

Bargain. We will be going back!

We were enticed into Sheba Brick Lane as we were promised good food with a quick service. Unfortunately the service was far from quick. We waited 45 minutes for our food to be served. When we asked the waiter how long our food would be he turned his back on us and walked away. A table next to us left before their food arrived as the food was taking so long to arrive. Overall the food was good but would not eat there again. This was the first time ever that I refused to pay a service charge.

Absolutely amazing ! The food is really tasty, the service is effective, and that's all what I love in this Indian restaurant, the food and the ambience. The price is affordable as well

The food was great at Sheba's, the starters of onion bhaji was nicely flavoured and the kabuli jerk chicken was delicious. For the main we had plump and juicy King Prawn Coriander and the absolutely devine Lamb Shanks. The accompanying Pilao Rice was hot and fluffy and Garlic Nan was perfect. We washed the food down with the tastiest mango lassis and left happy as the bill did not leave a dent in our pockets.

My Brother and myself visited this restaurant again as the food was very reasonable on our first visit back last year.

Unfortunately, the food this time around was no where near what we were expecting.

My Brother had a King Prawn butterfly for starter which did not appear to have any prawn in it at all (some type of substitute fish appeared to be used, although the tail appeared to be from a prawn!). I had a Fish Kebab for starter which was ok but not exactly spicy and lacked seasoning.

For the main course, my Brother had a King Prawn Shashlik Bhuna which had some flavour but was swimming in oil/ghee.

My main course was Chicken Hyderabadi Bhuna which had very little flavour:- the chicken was flavour-less and the sauce had no detectable seasoning, spice or chilli.

All-in-all, the only part of the meal we were both satisfied with was the drinks (they didn't have to prepare the Cobra beer!).

Hopefully you will think twice before going to this Restaurant as I felt very short-changed when spending over £50 for two people and the low quality of food that we received in exchange.
