What a bizarre last review. I haven't got a clue what mr anyonymous is talking about. The first thing you notice about kare kare is the calm, classy surroundings. The white walls and tables with lovely modern art and large, comfortable chairs. We were seated next to a couple who started sneezing and coughing a lot and talking about medical complaints so we asked to move to a table by the window and the graceful staff were more than happy to oblige. As for the food - i'd put it at above average although some dishes were much better than others. For starter the lamb balls were tasty but the potato cakes reminded me of the sort of breadcrumbed thing that Birds Eye produce much to the chagrin of people like Jamie Oliver. And we only got two tiny potato cakes. But the most marked difference was with main courses. My girlfriend, no doubt as I was paying, went for the most expensive thing on the menu - the monkfish at about 16 pounds (not that i begrduged it of course!) The problem was that when it arrived, although it had some nice vegetable accompaniment, there were only three chunks of monkish - very stingy if you ask me. And that wouldn't have mattered so much but it wasn't even very nice. The monkfish tasted rubbery and bland. On the other hand I had the Chicken Tandoori Shashlik that I heartily recommend. It arrived on a sizzling platter and was tender and juicy with perfectly cooked vegetables. A first class dish. Overall I would certainly recommend Kare Kare. It's the sort of place where the staff seem to care and I do like the atmosphere. Just make sure you choose carefully from the menu and steer clear of the monkfish!

Just like the name the food is not what it should be - it's tasteless, disgrace in the name of indian cuisine. The pony tail guy pretends to be gay but his not. It's a place full of surprise.
