Highly recommendable place to visit if you r really going to eat authentic indian food. they serve spicy food but if some one doesn't like spices too much then chicken tkka masala and chicken korma (i luv them with pilao rice) are there. mix grill i had yesterday was amazing. i am regular eater of Indian food but Lahore karahi is the real place to eat i must say. Prices are low, service is speedy and staff is very friendly. Don't be intimidated of its naked looks, always busy n queue ; simply seat yourself down and start ordering.

I disagree completely with the other negative comments I have read. Lahore serves absolutely delicious food and it's my favourite Indian restaurant in Tooting. The food is fresh and always hot and quick to be served. The people who work there are all very nice, and always treat me with respect because I am quite a frequent customer. The samosas are to die for and the curries are authentic and made with high quality meat. All in all, lahore is fabulous for a quick takeaway or a sit-down meal after a night out or for lunch. Its a very social place, and the atmosphere is always bright and cheery. The southern indian food is popular with the local asian community so I think that speaks for itself on the basis of quality.

Ok, it's not a restaurant
Its an Indian fast food joint
And at providing cheap, authentic dishes, that taste lovely, it excels
It's always packed, and 90% of the customers are asian (which I think tells you something)
The waiters rush around, banging out the food (Lamb Karahi my favourite)
If you want service with a smile and a tablecloth go somewhere else (and pay double)

I have been to more than my fair share of Indians - my hopes were dashed when sitting in Lahore Karahi. I had been told a couple of good things about this place, in hindsight not by people who could be true Indian food lovers. The food was disappointing to be kind! It was bland and uninspiring, not to mention the tandoori sitting on the shelf looked like it had been sitting there for a week.
THEN on top of all my disappointment I found out when looking at the bill that I was charged 50p per popadom. Now if it was a home made one and the best I had ever had I could understand this pricing but no. I've had better from Sainsbury's. Its obvious they are charging this amount because all of us HAVE to have one with an Indian completely exploiting customers.
I was shocked to find that this place had such a high review rating. The only thing that I can think of being the reason is that the 50 unfriendly, drained staff have come on and written them. I rarely am unable to find nothing good to say about places but I would suggest you avoid this place. There are far better ones available in Tooting.

Have been a few times. The tv always seem to be blaring out a religious channel and the food is just OK. One of the staff was very surly and another one took my money and pocketed the change, I generally tip but this annoyed me. There is better to be had in Tooting at the same price for more choice and better ambience

This restaurant is disappointing. It was recommended to us by a friend but when we arrived we waited ages for our dishes to arrive and when they did they were incredibly disappointing, I mean, my prawn korma was orange in colour with a very thin sauce. Anyone who has been to a half-decent Indian restuarant knows that this is not how korma should be cooked. Barring its appearance and texture I found that I couldn't even stomach it and had to leave my meal unfinished. The shish kebabs were marginally better but not by much. Service was okay but considering my friends and I are quite young (university students) I don't think we're ever taken seriously anywhere.
Tooting is full of Indian restuarants, I'm sure you can find a better one without much effort.

I have read some reviews. Anybody who finds this place and its food has lost his marbles or knows nothing about quality Indian food. It is all pre-cooked microwaved food. Kebabs are made atleast 24 hours in advance, salds are filthy, you seldom get a fresh nan. The quality of meat used in curries is absolutely disgusting. The biryani's are a shame to the name of biryani.
The owners are probably aware of the poor quality of food and service but are encouraged to not improve by the amount of take away food they sell. The reason they sell is the close proximity to the Underground station, cheap food and lots of shoppers who are prepared to fill them up with anything.
Stand near their open kitchen for a few minutes, you would see kebab mince rotting all day in the heat of room and tandoor, filthy pates, dirty salads and food kept for several days. How can Health and Safety officials let them get away?
Plus the robot like, extremly over-worked waiters. You want to call it a good place, you defintely have a good taste.

If you're looking for a classy, sit-down meal, being served on hand-and-foot by waiters in waistcoats and bow-ties, this is NOT the place for you.
This is more of a "cafe/take-away" type place with a very informal atmosphere, which is perhaps the reason I love it. It is something a little different from most other Asian restaurants, but the food is excellent and good value for money. We always stop here on our way home if we have been shopping in Tooting, to pick something up. I recommend it.
