Spicy Basil

Fully agree with the previous reviewer.The food is ok at Spicy Basil. The service is atrocious however. Very difficult to make an order on the telephone due to staff not speaking and understanding English very well. Today they got my delivery order wrong even though I clearly stated what I wanted TWICE and gave them menu item numbers as a reference. Called up for a replacement and the manager, who acknowledged they made a mistake after further inquiry, said it would take another hour and suggested she could just tell the lady taking the order to be more careful next time! When I said I would wait for a replacement, she said the driver would collect the incorrect order and also check that it hadn't been eaten before handing over the replacement!!! No apology offered. No concept of customer satisfaction. No joy.

We had Thai food from here quite few times and really enjoyed. However, yesterday we decided to order it to be delivered to our house. I called, order all the items and then double checked the order twice (as i know how the waitress have difficulties while speaking English). Total bill £14.7. Once the driver arrived my boyfriend gave him £16 and got the bag. Thirty seconds later the driver rings the bell again saying it was £13.30 and we gave him too much (we found a bit weird as the lady on the phone said £14.7). Anyway, we open the bag and realised they send us a wrong dish (that was the reason why it was cheaper than what she has told us). The worst is to come... I called back and spoke with the lady that served me and she said I did not order that and I was a liar and then she hung up on me!! Yes!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, It is ok to make a mistake we would be fine but just do not call customers liars....We called back and ask to speak with the supervisor...after 5 minutes discussing the matter (everything we could understand was Pad thai...chicken... and other words that we could not understand) the supervisor start speaking with me: she was very direct asking if I had any of the wrong dish because if i did she could not replace it. Furthermore, She said that I had to pay £1.40 difference! and that it would take another 2 hours!! Just the WORST customer service ever! Will not be coming here again. Ahh, the delivery guy was very kind at least

The best Thai I had in ages. Don't expect romantic setting but good Thai food and you forgive even to grumpy waitress.

it is great value for money. Really well made Thai dishes, on a par with many of the Thai restaurants in London, for a third of the price. Both green and red curries are delicious and come in big portions not much meat though. Pad Thai is also made really well.

The best Thai food I have ever tried! In fact - Thai cuisine became my favourite after I tried food at Spicy Basil.

Fresh food made right before your eyes. Enormous portions, great variety, made fast.

I moved to Mile End from Kilburn couple of years ago, but keep coming back every now and then for Spicy Basil food!
