La Vigna

My wife regularly goes there for her lunch as she works 5 doors away but I meet her there at least three times a month as the food is tasty presented well and good value. They know how to do a steak, their pasta marinara is simply the best outside of sicilian islands and I would not be concerned taking freinds or business collegues there as they always provide top notch service.

I'm off there tonight as it happens and would wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone who likes italian food served just the way mama ought to!!

Went to the restaurant the other evening after reading all of the good reviews as we were curious to see what it was like, we were pleasantly surprised, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, laid back and relaxed but with attentive and welcoming service and excellent food. The wine list was also very extensive, with a good selection. My wife had the king prawns in garlic and brandy sauce and I had the ossobucco (one of the specials of the day), both of them were fantastic, well cooked and full of flavour. We had a lovely bottle of Ripassa followed by the homemade tiramisu which was the best I've ever had.

I'm really pleased to have found such a lovely, reasonably priced place and I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

I am a regular customer at La Vigna and I must say I have never experienced anything like what the previous reviewer has written. I eat there two-three times a week and always thoroughly enjoy the food, atmosphere and excellent service.

I had lunch here today and despite it being fairly busy, I did not wait long for drinks or food and my mushrooms to start and veal pizzaiola as a main were, as always, wonderful.

Pay attention to the good reviews and try out this wonderful little Italian, you will not be disappointed.

I picked this restaurant for an evening out based on the high scores awarded by previous diners, and I've got to say, standards have either dropped dramatically since the last review before this was posted, or the kitchen staff were having an off night.

I started with one of the specials - asparagus with butter and parmesan, which I had to send back to the kitchen because it was cold. The dish came back piping hot, with cheese turned rubbery by microwaving.

For my main course, I chose Saltimbocca alla Romana, which was highly disappointing - the veal was grey and rubbery with a measly covering of parma ham, all liberally doused in what looked and tasted like Bisto. If there was any sage in the dish, it was overpowered by the sauce and I didn't taste it.

On the whole, it was not a dining experience that I'm in any hurry to repeat.

I use this restaurant regularly as the food and service is constantly wonderful not to mention the ambience created by Michele and Finola and all the staff. The reasonable prices are I might add very attractive too in this day and age.
