We went to Lola Rojo last night to celebrate my 50th. It was fantastic! every dish burst with flavours that met with ecstasy around the table! The service was excellent, we had the attention of all the waiters when we needed it. The whole restaurant was buzzing and there appeared a lot of happy customers.
Will definitely be returning, in fact already planning which new dishes to try!

It can't be denied that the food was delicious however the manner of the staff somewhat ruined the experience. We were told when we booked we had to leave after two hours, however we were reminded after an hour and continually throughout our meal. Finally out bill was given to us 15 minutes before we had to go. As a result we decided to pay only half the service charge. The manager then was very rude and asked us to vacate the table before te 2 hour slot was up. Clearly they are driven my table turnover rather then customer experience. I had been before and loved it but this time it was a disaster. The female manager in particular was extremely rude. When you are paying the lola roja prices you dont want to be treated like your in mcdonalds. Won't be going back again.

Ghastly Service
Over priced with very small portions.
No rhyme or reason as to when the main courses arrived i.e. one main course arrived as a tapas and then when returned as a main it had very obviously been reheated in a microwave which for lobster is not a good thing.
Will NEVER EVER return despite going frequently in the past.
And to cap it all off when they turned on the heating/aircon machine black smut was sprayed all over our table and food.
Waiters were lazy and left us waiting for 40mins before ordering and then an average of 5-10mins between tapas!!!!!
AVOID THIS GROTTY LITTLE PLACE!!!

OK food, passable if you like tapas, paella average. As regards service, given that my table was asked to leave early to accomodate a new party when no forewarning had been given I would rate this as poor. The ambience is good though food is somewhat overpriced when compared to other tapas bars on offer in London. Try Iberica, Rebatos, Brindisa as alternatives.

I was very satisified with this restaurant, so I am surprised of some of the reviews below. I am spanish and I have lived in london for over 5 years so although I visit Spain often I every now and then crave for some authentic spanish food. This place is authentic spanish, the owners I think are from the catalan region and the majority of the staff seem to be spanish. We went last friday evening and had a variety of tapas, for starters we had the crispy aubergine that my boyfriend loved, I found it a bit too thin and crispy and a bit oily, and some some catalan bread ( bread with tomato) that was a generous portion.
We then had some ham croquettes that tasted delicious and chicken croquettes, spanish omelette, and a delicious fig salad with ham and manchego cheese. For dessert I had the rice pudding (which was served cold as we do in spain) and my boyfriend had the chocolate with rasbperry delight, both of them amazing. It all came to 46 pounds and we did not have any alcohol. Which I thought was maybe a bit pricey but somehow worth it.
The place was packed full but still all the food was very prompt to come and the service was very attentive.
I have been many times and I have tried the majority of the menu and I must say that having tried the paella I agree with the reviews that is not the best I have tried, it is almost all rice, normally too hard and not much flavour, this is obviously not the best dish of the cook.

Our evening started well with excellent tapas and good service. For our main course we ordered a seafood paella. It arrived cold, so we sent it back, which we were made to feel a little uncomfortable about.
The second paella arrived hot, but wasn't great, there were a few small prawns and small mussels, it was very bland being made up of mostly rice.
Overall the tapas is amazing, the paella isn't good and the service is good as long as you don't raise a complaint!

Have been there yesterday, the food is not great - just ok. Tapas are too expensive for the quantity delivered - obviously to oblige you to order more as you will starve otherwise. Paid almost 40 £ per head and I was still hungry at the end. Dessert was not bad, but tiny and overpriced as well.

Went to this restaurant on Sunday and was tempted in by their '5 tapas and Paella' for £15 Sunday Dinner offer. I felt we were totally duped by this offer. Once in there what we actually got was two tiny plates (which contained our five tapas and a small bowl of paella. One small plate we received had one potato on it (one tapas on the menu) and two croquettes (one tapas on the menu) on it. The way this offer was laid on the board outside and on the menu inside was to indicate that you received five proper tapas plates and one paella, but this was blatantly not the case.
I have been to many Spanish restaurants both in London and in Spain and I have never ordered a tapas without having at least a small plate of the one item. The way this was served was obviously done to convince you to come in so that you would then order more (as you were starving).
I found it very disappointing that what is perceived as a quality restaurant should use this type of ruse to bring customers in.
Be honest about what you are offering and let people make their own choice, or alternatively you could serve my one tiny potato on a tapas plate of its own and show yourself up!!

I think it was one of the worst experiences of my life, the food was pretty bad, actually a friend of mine told me that the restaurant had a reputation for food, but Iīm Spanish and I can assure you, that this is not a paella.
There was a woman who seems to be the manager who doesnīt stop yelling; so looks like crazy. Sorry for my english
If you want to try a good spanish cuisine, please donīt go to Lola Rojo.
