Went to this newly opened restaurant in earls court in midweek, as i adore Japanese Cuisine especially sushi and sashimi, but was absolutely horrified by appalling service. I had ordered some sushi and sashimi and a warm dish as a main course, but the taste and seasoning lacked compared to other japanese restaurant i've visited in the past.
This place did not know the meaning of good customer service, and the staff did not understand english very well. I had to consistenly repeat myself. The service, the food, and atmosphere failed to impress me. It was very disappointing for a japanese restaurant in a good location in london.
Do not be fooled by the exterior of the restaurant, and the menu it offers. Will not be going back here in a hurry. There are plenty of excellent japanese restaurants in london town.

Fantastic new Japanese restaurant that has just opened on Earls Court. I live in the area and always strugled with the local Japanese restaurants.
My wife and I eat Japanese food at least once a week and we tried Kappa last saturday for lunch--- what a surprize! They have a very affordable bento lunch menu, with excellent sushi/sashimi and the hot dish was also excellent (we had a chefs daily special tofu- which was great). All in cost us total of £50 for two- which is great for a jap restaurant in London.
The food was so good first time out that we tried it again (this time for dinner) this weekend-- and once again we were positively surprized. The dinner menu is more varied and a bit more expensive (total meal cost us £75 for two- but we had 1 starter, two hot dishes, 1 nigiri selection and 1 sashimi selection).
Really great find. If you like good japanese food, but dont want to over spend this is the place.
