Had my birthday party here on sunday. I thought I would try the buffet as I am quite particular with my indian food. I was very disappointed at the chicken and lamb dishes on offer, disappointed at the fact there was no flavour. The vegetable dishes were a lot to be desired. Not only were they watery but there was a lack of love in teh food. To be honest I did not go for seconds and left my food on teh plate after a few mouthfulls. I am sorry to say Brick Lane is much better, may not be that classy compared to this plave but seriously dishes up Authentic Indian food.

Only being honest, try it for yourself and see.

Personally, i found Zeera to be absolutely excelliant The service provided to me was done in a profession manner. The atmosphere of the restraunt was very enlightened. I was very satisfied that i did not have to wait for the food very long. whereas, in another restraunt i will have to wait longer than Zeera's fast service. this service is well appreciated by me. Utter most respect.

Have eaten at the restaurant before and the food and service has always been excellent. Last night decided to stay in and order a takeaway from Zeera. The food was delivered within the given time and was well packaged (not your normal tin foil tray with cardboard top) in plastic containers with everything clearly labelled. The food was also superb and I would highly recommend their takeaway service as well as the brilliant restaurant.

I took a dinner date there who knows her Indian food a bit better than I. I'm pretty laid back with regards to any dining endeavor, but there was only one other couple there, and it took several minutes to get a drink order placed (about 7-8 minutes). My food was okay, not great, but she wasn't impressed with hers. I pushed her for a dessert, and we ordered. As she went off to the bathroom, the waiter came over to apologize that the lady's dessert 'didn't look right to the chef, so he recommended not serving it'. Okay. We'll wait for the lady to get back. She gets back; I tell her the story; she asks if I'm kidding - at precisely the same moment they bring my dessert (Indian ice cream). So, I have no choice but to eat it as it melts. She makes another choice - they're out - a third choice (Indian ice cream) and she got that just as I finished mine. £72 got us 2 popodams, the Punjabi king prawn app (shared), a main course and a dessert each. I had 2 pinot grigios and a port; she had a mocktail as she was driving.

All in all - go somewhere else. If they can't square away an empty restaurant, they aren't doing something right.

I hired Zeera caterers last year for an Indian wedding reception and while the cuisine looks very Rajastani I went to the food tasting with them and they assured me the dishes could be changed for a Northern "feel". After two tasting sessions we settled on them and while pricey I thought they could deliver.

On my wedding day, being the bride I didn't eat much but I did know that it wasn't what we agreed on. After I got back from my honeymoon people within my family came to me and stated that the food was very Bengali in taste and had I gone for that option on purpose? Well, I hadn't and I was very dissappointed to learn that most of the guest were not happy with the food - not because it wasn't nice but because the spices used were very Madras and not at all like the food that we are used to. In particular the high amounts of oil and food dyes used which is reminiscent of Bengali cooking.

Needless to say my wedding food wasn't the way it was pitched to me and I blame myself alone for not going with a pure punjabi caterer. My advice to brides, don't believe that a caterer who asvertise their food a certain way can accomodate on the big day, when mass producing food, it is all too easy to be lax about the standards and changes you have promised.

10 of us had dinner at Zeera on Saturday night. The waiters were attentive intially but like all groups "wanting another 5 minutes" it makes it hard for them to then approach, hence making the service slow. Although the food was a little on the pricey side, the Tikka Massala I had blew me away and set my taste buds on fire - one of the best I've had in a long while and for that, it was well worth the additional cost. However, I have to say the starter was a different story; a couple of friend potato slices dripping in fatty batter; not really what I had in mind and within our group, we were all of the same opinion.
