Totally agree with the majority of views expressed. Zeera is not a bad restaurant but it does not do authentic indian food justice. The waiters really are very grim, sullen and they seem to not have any social skills. It would be nice if for once, they welcomed you warmly rather than appearing as though their guests are unwelcome.
As for their prices, they are wayyyyyy too overpriced. You'd be better off going to Tayabs in Whitechapel. It's a famously well known indian restaurant and its very very good value for money. If you don't want to travel far though, try the Budgens opposite...their frozen indian meals are better!!

As with some other comments made, the service at Zeera was awful!! The staff were all very unfriendly and unhelpful. Whenever I asked for anything from the staff, they looked very annoyed. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone as they'll have an unpleasant time, having to deal with rude waiters.
I usually had takeaways from Zeera's where I chose what I wanted so I generally liked the food (and I didn't have to see the grim waiters). But I tried out their sunday buffets and i was quite disappointed. There was not a lot of choice in the food and you could tell that they only mainly had cheap dishes.
Overall my visit to Zeera's was disappointing and I will not be going back there again.

This restaurant looks impressive from the outside, it looks impressive from the inside. There's not many indian restaurants who have Molton Brown soap in the washrooms, so you have to give them full points for effort. The view of the decor was certainly unspoilt by other diners, we were almost the only table in there....
The food is good, tasty and well presented, it arrived slightly lukewarm but I'll forgive them that.
What really lets this place down is the staff, they are sullen and frankly depressed, surely a smile wouldn't hurt. They're not rude - that would mean showing emotion. You'd think they'd make an effort to welcome custom and not seem to regard them as an interruption to them standing around.
At £25 a head, it's overpriced for this location and I'm sure there are places nearby that you could do a lot better for a lot less. If Gordon Ramsey reads these reviews I'd love to see Zeera on Kitchen Nightmares.
If the restaurant reads this - for gods sake cheer up lads!!

This is my local Indian, and I thoroughly love it. Although the location is not very atmospheric, being under the Green Bridge in noisy Mile End, the food is great.
Really love it. Can recommend the Aloo Palak, the spinach dish, as well as Jinga Xacuti, prawns in spicy sauce.
Well worth a try!

Very dissapointed with the quality of food. There is no mention in the menu that all dishes will have loads of sugar making the dish taste like a sweet dish. the worst food i have ever ate in my entire life!!!
soaring prices, £70.00 for 3 dishes and drinks!!! un professional staff. I would strongly ask you not to go there!!!

Went to Zeera recently with colleagues. Very disappointed on a number of aspects: 1) The waiters lack personality and really don't seem like they want to be there. 2) Everything was overpriced (this would be okay if the food was actually good, but not for food that lacks taste, and for some dishes we had, tastes like it was cooked the day before! 3) They don't seem to have half of the things that are on the menu. 4) The waiters look offended if you call them over to ask for something (they didn't even say 'bye' or get up as we were leaving. They all carried on sitting around the bar gossiping and ignoring their diners).
All in all, a disappointing, sub-standard restaurant not with the money.

I have been to Zeera on many occasions and always found the food to be quite excellent. Last night my girlfriend and I took her father (an absolute connoisseur of Indian cuisine!) for dinner to Zeera and he was thoroughly impressed, as were we again! The chicken with ginger, the dahl and my all time favourite, gohst sagwali (lamb with spinach and garlic) were sublime! Why this restaurant isn't more popular is mystifying....The service was good, the dishes on offer superb and the venue comfortable and relaxed.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and it's well worth traveling to the less than glamorous location of Mile End for!

Had my birthday party here on sunday. I thought I would try the buffet as I am quite particular with my indian food. I was very disappointed at the chicken and lamb dishes on offer, disappointed at the fact there was no flavour. The vegetable dishes were a lot to be desired. Not only were they watery but there was a lack of love in teh food. To be honest I did not go for seconds and left my food on teh plate after a few mouthfulls. I am sorry to say Brick Lane is much better, may not be that classy compared to this plave but seriously dishes up Authentic Indian food.
Only being honest, try it for yourself and see.
