Lahore Kebab House

after 'andrews' review, I had to just neutralise it a little by adding my own,
ok the decor isn't exactly the IVY, but price/food comparison, it's excellent value, it’s hardly dirty, unless you’re the kind of person who only dines at the Savoy, and turns his nose up at places like these.
how anyone can say poor food is beyond me, unless you drank a whole bottle of washing up liquid before you had your meal,
personally, I don’t think this is even in the top 3 pakistani restaurants in London but it’s still nothing short of great food.
I would hate to dine at this place, and you sat on a table next to me, so please keep you promise, and don’t come back… never again

The food is exellent truelly, authentic. I have a restaurant (lebanese) myself and i been coming to this restaurant with my wife for twelve years still the best, I can assure you will not be disappointed with food.
The only criticism i have is the servise but it doesnt matter because the food makes up for it.

What a pity. I have been to LKH half a dozen times over the last two years and had always agreed with the established reputation of the place: that it offered good, tasty food at very reasonable prices in a simple setting. Tonight I went again with a couple of friends that have been there with me before. We enjoyed ourselves until the point where the bill came. Having eaten there several times before we were expecting a bill in the region of £40 (for three of us, not including drinks- LKH is BYO). The bill was £89.90. For thirty quid a head, before beers and service, I would be expect a pretty fantastic example of "nouveau" Indian cuisine (e.g. beautifully presented tender duck curries in a glamorous St James/Mayfair setting). Not a bit of it- this was exactly the same functional, wipe-clean, fluorescent-lit, LKH that we had always loved, but with prices more than doubled. £14 for a bowl of simple chicken curry! In Whitechapel! An outrage.
We questioned the bill with the waiter, who shuffled off to talk to his manager. The bill came back with a £9 discount, which still made it double the price it should have been. The waiter admitted that prices had gone up "a lot in the last two months". Sadly, the management have clearly taken the positive reviews that the restaurant has enjoyed rather too much to heart. LKH now offers bad value. What a shame. I won't be going back unless I hear that they've cut their prices back to a level more suited to what the restaurant offers.

Lives up to it's good reviews. The starters are delicious and give Tayyabs a good run for their money (plus here they give you more!) The slow roasted lamb really does serve 6 and everything else from chappattis to rice was tasty and arrived super-quickly.
It feels a bit like a canteen upstairs, but there's a decent mix of people and overall a good atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

As a died in the wool curryholic I was cynical about how good the food here would be. I am delighted to say that all the good reviews I read have been pretty spot on.
I've been waiting for years to find the curry that gave me the kick that my very first curry gave me and I found it here. It took me back 30 years. The spices and succulent meat make my mouth water just thinking about it. Superb food, excellent attentive and quick service
There is not doubt I'll be going back and I'll be taking my friends with me. It's just a pity I live so far away and can't get there as often as I would like.

The restaurant is clean and the toilets are excellent (a woman thing!)
The food is always good. Although on recent visits we have notcied the prices have increased dramtically since completing the new decor. But not too much to stop us going.
We have introduced so many foriegn visitors to this restaurant in the past twelve months the reputation is now Amercia wide!
We have our office Christmas Parties there every year, and they support us brilliantly. The added advantage - the BYO beer policy is a big attraction in an expensive period of the year. Try the whole leg of Lamb slow roasted for 24 hours for large parties.
See you again this Christmas for another party

A couple of Indian friends took me to this "little secret" in East London (it's actually big and well known!). Since then I have never forgotten the trully unebelievable LAMB CHOPS. The roti's (bread) and curries are also really tasty. The army of male waiters don't even need to be told to keep topping up with roti's, cucumber sauce or salads. The bring your own bottle aspect makes a visit to this place even better value.
Can only fault the decor of which there is none, but it somehow adds to the idea that this place is all about the fresh delicious pakistani cuisine.
