After 10 years, I been to Curry Special. Food was excellent and service was also very good. Vegetable Kofta and the Bombay Aloo is the same as before 10 years.I and my family had a great time. THANKS TO CURRY SPECIAL. :-)

Last Friday, 11th December 2010, me along with my family went to dine at Curry Special. I have been there many times before but this time after a long interval. However, I didn't notice any change at all; from food to drink and to service. Everything remains the same. They are still doing the Tusker Beer that I haven't found elsewhere in Ilford area. The Jeera Chicken (on the bone, nicely decorated with salad) I had tasted 20 years ago was the same I had last time. The waiter was efficient and polite. The menu was attractive and self explanatory and at the same time mouth watering. The desserts are unique. I recommend Gajar Halwa with ice-cream you will not find in other places, so good. It is amazing how since the opening they kept putting no service charge or cover charge whereas other restaurants invariably include those charges. To me, Curry Special is A truly family run restaurant........

I had been considering 'Curry Special' as my wedding caterer and went to the restaurant for diner this evening 08/08/09, with my fiance to try it out. However one of the dishes we ordered was awful. The cups of tea were half full and the service and attitude we recieved from the manager was very poor. The was no flexibility and they didn't seen at all concerned. They seemed very keen on just getting the our money and going home. I spent £63 on the meal. I was very embarrassed having been the one to suggest them But I have decided not to proceed with using 'curry special' or visiting the restaurant again. There are many others that are pleased to recieve the custom especially at this time.

I used to be a regular at this restaurant and food was not the best but passable most of the time. However, after long break from eating at CS I popped in last night for a take-away and having paid nearly £40 with only one non-veg dish to my list and waiting 25mins I thought for the price, food should be good and looked forward to having a nice meal at home. The prawn dish, which incidentally, was the most expensive on the menu was the biggest disappointment. There was no taste to the dish and the prawns looked like they were just thrown in last minute and tasted absolutely bland! I thought other dishes will make up for the poor quality of the prawn dish but to our disappointment all the dishes where of substandard and I will for sure never venture into this establishment again. I normally spend lot less on my take-aways and get far better quality of food.
